Guest guest
, There are a lot of disinfectants on the market, but none of them work any better at killing bacteria and viruses than good ole bleach. I love Clorox Wipes. You just have to be careful not to get bleach on something like a nice pair of slacks. So, hand wash like crazy and use Clorox Wipes or something on door handles, light switches, telephone, etc., etc. Also, if you hand wash your dishes you need to put a little bleach in your rinse water. You can put bleach in your dishwasher, but you have to be extremely careful not to make gas and breathe it. If you wait until your dishwasher is through rinsing and then fill it to rinse again and add a tiny bit of bleach you will kill everything. Just the hot water no matter how hot will guarantee killing everything unless you get steam hot as an autoclave. I had forgotten about you having surgery. You don't want an infection in the bone. Not only is it painful, but can be hard to get rid of. But - there are antibiotics that will take care of it for you. It just may take a while. Stick close to your doctors, and beware the weekend. Seems like if something is going to turn bad it happens over the weekend and we tell ourselves we will be OK until Monday. You though would need to go to the ER. Hopefully your doctor will give you a number you can call so you will get him or who is taking call for him. You let us know how you are please - - OK? Hugs - a Re: a B/sepsis, etc a,thanks for the info. Don't know much about sepsis. I haven't really run ahigh fever, but then again, the imuran can mask signs of infection. I wastalking to the pharmacist at the medical supply place when I picked up moreantibiotics and she said that the pain from cellulitis typically subsidesquicker than this is. I have an appt with my ortho tomorrow. He's the onethat my internist called in about my left arm/hand since he had just donethe surgery on my right wrist 3 weeks ago. I'm going to talk to him aboutwhether he thinks a bone scan might be warranted to make sure there is notan infection in the bone. The arm/hand is better but the back of my hand (from just below my littleand ring finger) to the outside bone of my wrist and then down the top of myforearm is still very painful to the touch. At least it's not stillthrobbing. Of course, being on imuran and having my immune system purposelysuppressed in order to save my liver does complicate any infection. To make matters even more interesting, my daughter, Nikki who came home fromcollege yesterday came down with the flu this afternoon. She had the flushot in Sep, but apparantly has gotten one of the strains not covered by theflu shot. Our pcp called in tamiflu for her right away. I am just hopingBud or I don't end up getting the flu. We both had flu shots, but thatdidn't save Nikki this time! However, they are saying that having the flushot will make you have a milder case. Hopefully between that and thetamiflu, Nikki won't be sick for too long!I swear, these days, it seems that it it's not one thing, it is 10 others!"The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!"
