Guest guest
a, thanks for the info. Don't know much about sepsis. I haven't really run a high fever, but then again, the imuran can mask signs of infection. I was talking to the pharmacist at the medical supply place when I picked up more antibiotics and she said that the pain from cellulitis typically subsides quicker than this is. I have an appt with my ortho tomorrow. He's the one that my internist called in about my left arm/hand since he had just done the surgery on my right wrist 3 weeks ago. I'm going to talk to him about whether he thinks a bone scan might be warranted to make sure there is not an infection in the bone. The arm/hand is better but the back of my hand (from just below my little and ring finger) to the outside bone of my wrist and then down the top of my forearm is still very painful to the touch. At least it's not still throbbing. Of course, being on imuran and having my immune system purposely suppressed in order to save my liver does complicate any infection. To make matters even more interesting, my daughter, Nikki who came home from college yesterday came down with the flu this afternoon. She had the flu shot in Sep, but apparantly has gotten one of the strains not covered by the flu shot. Our pcp called in tamiflu for her right away. I am just hoping Bud or I don't end up getting the flu. We both had flu shots, but that didn't save Nikki this time! However, they are saying that having the flu shot will make you have a milder case. Hopefully between that and the tamiflu, Nikki won't be sick for too long! I swear, these days, it seems that it it's not one thing, it is 10 others!
