Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to all this, and had 2 questions about the yogurt: -in the BTVC book, it is not specified that the yogurt be made with goat's milk. Is it equally benefitial if cow's milk is used instead? -my son is refusing the yogurt. I have been using it in recipes. (ex. fish pg.111) Does using the yogurt in recipes give the same effect for the child/GI system, or should I persue in trying to get him to ingest it directly? Thank you for all your support. Guest guest
Hi , I make my daughter's yogurt from cow milk...... although I have made goat yogurt as well. If your child never had any previous issues with cow dairy products, you can use cow milk. If, when using the yogurt in a recipe, you are HEATING it, then you are killing all the beneficial bacteria. It's fine to use it still, but it becomes just like cheese or whatever...... no live bacteria. So, you DO need to get the good flora down there somehow. Have you tried any smoothies? Freezing the yogurt is not optimum for keeping the good guys alive either..... so you might want to add frozen fruit chunks to a blender full of chilled yogurt and give it a whir.
