This is a very good example of how the bulk of what we see a la media IS IMAGE,

not reality. IE is all about reality which is why some people have a very hard

time with it ;-) We are too encouraged to 'live a dream'. Life is too short as

it is for that. Better to love what we are and have than to chase something we

will never 'have' any which way.

Thanks for the reality check and fun view of PEOPLE (out of their celeBRATity

selves).

Hi Katcha,

I almost think if we look at their faces without make-up and try and look in non-judging, unbiased way as much as possible, we can see actual real beauty in those images. What would I rather have? Real beauty or a beauty that I KNOW is not really me? I don't want to have people admire the heck out of a face that, in reality, isn't even me!!!! I hardly ever wear make up for just this reason; sometimes I will use the tiniest bit of blush, but normally I use nothing because I believe I'd rather be real in every way.

I LOVE how you spell celeBRATy!! lol

I find that I can't stand too much routine. I love to mix things up. Sometimes

I wear loads of makeup, sometimes none at all, and sometimes I fall in the

middle. I don't feel that me in makeup is not me, any more than me in clothes

is not me. But I often feel " not me " in too much jewelry, oddly enough. Maybe

we're all just comfortable in different things? Makeup is just something fun to

play with and pamper myself with. But I totally enjoy that I'm comfortable

going makeup free when I feel like it, too. And I totally respect chicks who

choose to never wear makeup, too. It seems very independent and confident.

I totally agree. I saw them as beautiful either way, but their no-makeup

beauty seemed so normal-woman beautiful. Whereas with airbrush and makeup they

looked almost like dolls.

make up.  I wasn't doing it to try and put them down as if to say, see they

don't look good.  I think they look fine without make up; granted they were

unposed pictures.  I did it because as women, we think the made up airbrushed

version is how the woman really looks, and then we compare and find ourselves

lacking.  We need to see these celebrities without make up so we can see the

truth is we don't come up lacking.  We need to stop beating ourselves up when we

don't look like the made up airbrushed versions.

Laurie, didn't interpret your post on celebs w/o makeup in any negative way at all. Saw it as a good dose of reality! And a wonderful reminder that celebs are just human like the rest of us.
