Hello all I am finally home...and glad to be here I might add. My experiance with some of the nurses left so much to be desired that it was not even funny. However there were a few that were great. Surgery went well as I am sure has informed you. (I spiked a fever of 101.9 Tuesday night, and had to get out of bed and walk and walk, and take horable liquid tylenol, but it was worth it as my fever came down and I am doing great. I walked and walked and walked. It made me feel so much better than lying in bed.

I had the chance to meet a few others there while I was doing my time. One woman that i met I would like you all to please include in your prayers. Her name is , and Dr Reins did a revison for her yesterday. It took him several hours, and is in much pain. Apparently her DR in another state did such a botch job that she has been on liquids since 94. Very long story, but I did want to ask you all to keep her in your thoughts as she goes through this hard time.

I want to thank , Martha, Mara, and Beth for dropping by to see me and keep me in good spirts. Thanks Martha for the wonderful goodie bag and card, thank you for the flowers they were beautiful(also the bear and the card). Beth thank you for the ty elephant. and Mara thank you for the question and answer sesion it was most helpful. I also want to thank everyone for their well wishes (post) before my surgery they were most encourging....

Well here is a little report.. the day of surgery I was 253LBS Tuesday night I was 258LBS and today they weighed me again before I left and I was 251LBS down 2 whole pounds.....LOL (I thought it was cute.)

I go to have the staples removed on Thursday of next week. I am still in quite a bit of pain...I have been having alot of muscle spazes, and they are painful, but the meds seem to be controling them well. Dr Thayer is an absoulute doll with a wonderful surgical team...expically Tony his student. He has wonderful bedside manor, and is going to make a wonderful surgeon/DR he has got the stuff. well I think I have rattled on enough for the night I am going to go and try to sleep in my bed tonight.. I took an hour nap in it today and was fine so I am hopeing that i make the night... It will be so great to sleep without someone poking at me every hour.

Glad to hear you're doing well. Thanks so much for the update. It's

very comforting to hear about a recent post-ops experience as I'm

just shy of two weeks away. I know it will only keep getting better

for you. Best of luck.

Welcome home... I'm sorry about your negative experience with some of the nursing staff. I would make sure to let Dr. T know about this. Make sure to get plenty of rest, drink your H20 and get in as much of your protein as you can..

Hugs,

Joni - Dr. Thayer 11/27/00

Dear :

I am on vacation but taking a few minutes to try and keep up with all my

letters. I just wanted to Welcome you home. It is nice to here what is

happening with you being a " new " post-op and knowing my time is coming -

March 1. Anyway I am glad you mentioned Tony as I had him during my pre-op

testing and loved him. I agree with you, he will make a great doctor! He

told me he would see me again during/after surgery but I wasn't sure if I

would. Now I know I will.

Glad to hear things are going well for you,

Pre-Op

March 1

Dr. Thayer
