Guest guest
I think it depends on what's in the " spices " . Our butcher gave me the phone number of his spice supplier and I was able to obtain the actual ingredients in the spices and found they were all legal. , Mom to non ASD, IBD daughter, age 8, whole family SCD 11/03 no Imodium since 12/03, Nortryptaline & Imitrex (migraines) other daughters ages 11 and
Guest guest
I don't think the label " organic " guarantees anything, except a higher price. It's pretty much a buzz word as far as I'm concerned, although I know it has a legal FDA definition, which has a lot of loopholes. As a former chem major, " organic " to me means something containing carbon, and that includes gasoline and petroleum products! I remember in lab, the most horrid and toxic substances were organic chemicals. But, I digress. I check hot dog labels for nitrates and nitrites, as well as hormones. I buy Applegate Farms, which are very expensive. Also, Farms chicken claims it has no hormones or antibiotics, so I don't buy the more expensive chicken. With beef, you have to spend a lot to get the good stuff. If you're lucky enough to get hot dogs made for you with just meat and spices, that's great. (As long as the spices are legal - sometimes they throw some gluten in there) > > hi to all, > > I buy organic hotdogs from my butcher who carries a huge selection > of organic meats. Are these o.k if all the ingredients > include :organic beef or pork and salt /spices. > > Also do most of you buy organic meats?/I am trying to avoid > antibiotics/pesticides in regular meats, veggies/fruit for my son. > > nicole > > > > For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book > _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following > websites: > http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info > and > http://www.pecanbread.com > > > >

It is " spices " . They may contain starch. Try to find out more details about the spices. Carol F.
