Upping armour dose

About 3 weeks ago, I switched from taking synthroid plus armour to

straight armour. My main question is how fast to raise the armour

dose? I don't want to raise too fast, but I'm also don't want to

crash by lowering my total dose too much.

I was taking .137 synthroid & 1 grain armour--for a total of 175 mcg T4.

I've worked my way up to 2 grains armour--for a total of 76 grains T4.

I realize that my T3 has raised, but will the drop in my total dose

cause me problems before I can raise my armour again?

Does this make sense? I've been on 2 grains for 12 days. I'm also

taking nutri-meds adrenals and did have a problem last weekend, but

dropped the nutri-meds back and have felt much better since then.

So that's kinda it in a nutshell. I was thinking of raising another

1/2 grain on Sunday and then holding for a while, but wanted some input.

Thanks - Debbie

What were your last Free T3 and Free T4, Debbie, and when were they done?

Might know more then, with symptoms being primary, of course.

Hi - On August 2, my FT4 was 1.4 (.8-1.8) and my FT3 was 3.2

(2.3-4.2). I had been taking .150 T4 + 1/2 grain armour.

After that I changed to .137 T4 + 1 grain armour, but haven't taken

another blood test.

A few years ago, I tried taking straight armour and felt good for a

while before crashing and blood then was FT4 .9 (.8-1.8) and FT3 3.3

(2.3-4.2). I was at 2.25 grains and had no idea about adrenals or

ferritin and so starting adding in the T4.

I've got to say that the last few days, I've felt better mentally than

I have for a long time. I've been at 2 grains for almost 2 weeks,

plus the adrenal glanulars and iron.

It's been about 3 weeks since I completely dropped the synthroid so I

want to try to avoid the effects of that drop if I can. I don't want

to wait too long to raise my armour, but also don't want to raise too

fast. Such a balancing act!
