When I go to the beach with the kids I bring a wide brim hat and beach umbrella. This helps somewhat. The sun also reflects off the ocean and white sand. A physical protection (hat & umbrella), combined with a good sunscreen are my suggestions for a good time at the beach. Have fun!
Guest guest
, To my knowledge (I saw 2 plastic surgeons who do photoderm) and they make you sign an agreement that during TX's you won't even vacation in extremely sunny locations or try to get a tan. Do you realize that your skin is like a 100 times more susceptible to hyperpigmentation due to sun exposer? For rosacea this can mean redness that takes 6 months or more to fade...In fact sunning just might undo all the good from 2 TX's you've already had and add lots more. I am not trying to frighten you...just sharing the info I got when I first began TX's. Darlene
Guest guest
If you have time, , check out these websites: Sun Precautions: Solumbra sun protective clothing extreme The stuff is faily neat looking & is easy to wear -- some of it I have had people asking me where i got it (not knowing it was " special " ). Hope it helps - have fun & try to avoid the sun as much as possible! Jackie
Guest guest
-- You should really avoid the sun as much as you can while you're in the midst of photoderm treatments--SPF or no SPF! However, I would wear the sunscreen you have (provided you can tolerate it--I can't do chemical sunscreens since I started photoderm) if you want to be out on the beach. Also, if you can find an umbrella to plant yourself under, do it as much as possible. Or buy one of those big Panama hats and wear it in addition to your sunscreen when you'll be in direct sunlight. I know it seems silly, and I know how much you want to enjoy your vacation without the constraint of worrying about your skin, but think about it this way--3 or 4 days of obsessive sun protection vs. years of problems with rosacea. I try and keep that in mind whenever I feel a little silly wearing my big gaudy sun visor just to drive to the grocery store! Have a good vacation! --- wrote: > > Hey guys, > > I am in the middle of my treatments. Actually, I had > my 2nd photoderm > 10 days ago. Guest guest
, It will also help if you avoid the sun until after 2PM, so you might consider sleeping late...:-) Jim Re: During Photoderms and Spring Break > -- > > You should really avoid the sun as much as you can > while you're in the midst of photoderm treatments--SPF > or no SPF! Guest guest
Dan You need to be the man of Zinc Oxide. I used some while I was in Israel for 5 weeks this summer and my skin actually improved. Of course, I had this big time hat on, so I'd try that too. Chris During Photoderms and Spring Break > Hey guys, > > I am in the middle of my treatments.
