In reference to Self Care: Great Cookbook

This is in reference to a post a while ago about how difficult it is to take of

oneself by cooking food one might actually enjoy. I love Mark Bittman's

cookbook Quick and Easy. I made a Broccoli soup tonight in 30 minutes that was

delicious. The whole point of the book is delicious food prepared simply and if

your not use to cooking for yourself it is a great place to start.

I get so much from all of your posts and I so appreciate the words of wisdom

here. I don't post that often because I don't feel like I am far enough along

with I.E. to share too much advice - but I admire everyone here including

myself, for daring to accept our bodies and trying to end the negative cycle -

we have more important things to focus on then the woman in fashion magazines

and comparing ourselves to that inapproriate and ridculous ideal. I remember

when Kate Winslet came out and said her picture on the cover of a magazine was

airbrushed to make her look thinner and she didn't want woman to think that was

her real body. Rare honesty.

I digress. I will post more - even if it is just to express some emotion. Just

wanted to offer something that might be constructive to someone.

ALL posts are welcome, including newbie 'struggles' because not only does that

person open themselves for support, it helps us all - short timers as well as

those long practiced with IE - to re-visit and re-affirm our won IE journeys.

There's no 'finish line' for that as far as I can tell, its simply like life -

ongoing until it stops?

Looking forward to your expressions of emotion, that is constructive for you as

well as us too.

BEST to you, Katcha

IEing since March 2007

Thanks for sharing about that cookbook. I am learning to cook and don't always

have tons of time so it sounds like the perfect thing for me to check out!
