Surgery Date

Hi,

I have been a " lurker " for a long time and have posted now and then.

I got my surgery date a long time ago with Dr. Thayer but I didn't

post it because I didn't want to jinx it. Now I'm starting to freak a

little because the date is coming up pretty soon and I have not heard

anything from them except they gave me an appointment for the pre-op

testing. I just have this fear that the insurance won't cover it but

I've been too chicken to call and make sure. I will call tomorrow.

They wouldn't have given me a date for surgery if the insurance

refused, would they?

I have been going to the thursday meetings at NWH with my buddy Don

for several months and reading the posts on this list. I was feeling

pretty confident that I knew what to expect and what to do but now

I'm thinking maybe I don't know anything. I meant to go to the

monthly pre-op meeting but forgot all about it. I have never had

surgery before so I don't know what to bring or anything. I would

really appreciate any suggestions as to what to bring, as well as

what to have on hand at home.

All of you on this list and at the meetings are an inspiration and I

am very grateful you are here.
