Guest guest
Hi Gang! Geoff here. As you know from previous posts over the last several months, Costco runs about the most user-friendly pricing scheme for Rx drugs in the USA, maintaining a margin of 10-25% vs. 80%+. However, there is still a caveat... I am using Doxy. My last Rx cost < $20 for 100 capsules. I refilled the Rx a few days ago and it was > $33. I asked the pharmacist why there was such a discrepancy and he advised me their generics come from a variety of mfg's. The newest Rx was from a seldom-used mfg whom they normally avoid due to price. They are now back on track but beware when you get your Rx filled. If your local Costco happens to have hit on a short-term window of loading up with high-priced Rx drugs, you may feel the pinch. You can avoid this by tracking your costs and asking ahead of time what the price for your Rx will be. Obviously, those of us on Doxy pay far less than you on Mino or some of the other drugs, but the caveat remains.
