Zithromax as a cure?

I have been away from this board for some time. I wanted to let you

know what has happened with my husband over the past few months.

My husband has had moderately severe rosacea for 8 years. This

includes almost constant pustules and rhynophyma. Relief only seen

with tetracycline.

At Thanksgiving he contracted the flu. This turned into a sinus

infection.

The doctor prescribed Zithromax for him. This is in the erythromycin

family.

He was given the 5 day oral dose, taking just one pill per day.

Several weeks later he mentioned that his rosacea was much better. He

hadn't had a remisssion like this in a long time. He went through the

holidays with lots of rich food, chocolate, some alcohol, and plenty of

sun and cold since we spent the holiday in the mountains. There was

also a fare amount of stress

with all of the company we were entertaining. In addition he was

making the decision on whether or not to retire.

It is now the middle of March and he has not had a pustule in almost 4

months. He also reports that his skin doesn't ooze the way it used to.

It may be worth a try for someone else to investigate this. I hope it

works for everyone else who has to suffer with this.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've taken Zithromax twice this winter for sinus

infections and never noticed a change in my rosacea.

Someone else mentioned success while using the antibiotic Cipro but the good

results went away after stopping the meds.
