This works for some - but it can backfire. Have you read " overcoming

overeating " ? Basically the principle behind the book is that if you

let yourself eat as much as you want of your binge food, you'll

eventually get sick of it and stop wanting it.

I have not read any of the books and am planning to have my library

track them down for me soon. For some reason binging for me has

strangely become a thing of the past. Lucky I guess though it may be

because I was scared to death I might be diabetic and had to run that

bloodtest for a whlle to discover my blood sugar was all over the place

and so from there began the nibble things that are good for you ever

few hours. I got the blood sugar back to stable consistently and

still occassionally check it.

If I eat something even a tablespoon of cottage cheese or handful of

almonds every two maximum three hours I am not hungry PERIOD - ever and

in that state I never binge. That grabbing craving foods is history

for me now. I would once in a blue moon I might grab something i know

is not that good for me..but after a little bit of it and never a huge

amount I am done with it.

BUT i did by overdoing quit smoking years ago. I had tried to quit

for ten years and was always back there. One time after quitting for

months and months I went out with friends and again got a package of

cigerattes. Smoked the whole thing that night and was so deathly ill

the next day I thought I was going to die. By afternoon I was up and

healthy as a horse again AND GOT A SECOND PACK OF THOSE THINGS and

smoked htat whole pack within a few hours. The deathly feeling the

following day now two days of deathly ill from those things resulted in

never touching another one again. To this day the thought of one,

even if I am around friends who love to smoke and make it look ever so

great never happens. So if it can work for smoking I am sure it can

work for food too.
