It's been awhile since I've talked about or thought about the tumor. It was one of those that we hopefully won't have to touch because it's in such a sensitive area. I guess all my answers to your questions really should be, " I don't know. I'm living with it and maybe I'm just here to let other people know that sometimes you just live with it. " I don't think I could develop enough contingency plans to prepare for every possible tumor scenario (I have way too many and really do have to think wholistically), so I just go on living the best I can and do what I need when something demands my attention. I have a team of docs I can trust, though, based on a relationship that has been built over more than ten years. That probably doesn't help very many other people, but then we're all so different in the combination of things that need attention at different times, so maybe the general strategy will be beneficial for someone else too. Your first full body mri???? sheesh we've had 2 already, they must be really expecting good things from us. > Rosemary Lee wrote: > >> how long have you been watching your optic nerve tumor? > > I thought it was longer, but my ma says it's only been three years. > >> where/what is it? > > I don't have the mri reports handy here. Guest guest
Oh Rosemary, sorry Louis has already been in the tube for such extensive scanning. I usually get head and spine (and then they'll keep me in longer than planned for bonus ones with those), but this time the nurse said it would be full body and I'm not sure what to expect, really. I have had a tumor removed from behind my right knee, so maybe they want to have a look at how things are doing now 7 years later? I was joking with Marcus that I've survived so long after my 1996 surgery when I had the blood infection and almost didn't pull through, that they probably want to see what the deal is. I'll find out when I see my NS after the scan. It's nice to be kicking around still, though. I bet Louis has the same sort of spirit in him! I'll keep you guys in my thoughts.
