Guest guest
>I'm on 3 1/2 grains and I can't split up my dose or I feel bad. I >take it once a day. Sandy, I may have asked you about this before but I have brain fog due to a MISERABLE HEAD COLD!!! argh. But....would you expound on what you said about? I've heard from a few others who are like you-- taking it all at once. What time do you take all that 3 1/2 grains? What has happened when you split the dose, and how was it split? I take 2 grains first, then one grain in the early afternoon, then another 1/4 grain at night. I had heard that it could be wise to take the higher amount first to " kick in " the receptors. It could be the same issue for you, too. I have worried about taking ALL my 3 1/4 grains at once---that would cause quite a high free T3 two hours later. Do you notice anything? And.......since you are taking so much at one time, do you not have a slump in the later afternoon? Janie
Guest guest
Ya know, I tried it two ways. I tried taking half the dose of 3 grains at two different intervals, at first, because I thought the T3 would be too much. It does NOT give me a rush at all. I did not start taking the entire dose until I found that before Noon, I was in a real slump, and not thinking clearly. I noticed it with my work, and I was like off in another world. lol. They just should call me 'space cadet' at work. heheh. I tried taking 1 1/2 grains when I got to the office at about 7:30, and then again at around 1:00 the other 1 1/2 grains. I didn't really feel all that great all day though, so I thought I'd try 2 grains in the morning, and 1 after lunch. That wasn't making much of a difference that I could notice either. I decided when I heard of two other people who dosed in the mornings for the entire day, and it actually worked better. My mood was better, I could think clearly, and if I'd had a good nights sleep the night before, no problems? When I realized that the 3 grains was good, I just started dowing it as soon as I sat down in my computer chair every morning at the office. By 8 am, I was coming around. I finally had to up the dosage to 3 1/2 grains when my brother had his heart attack the first week of Oct. The stress just about did me in, but the 3 1/2 grains works well, and like I said, as long as I have a good nights sleep the night before, I'm good all day. By evening, I'm tired, but not so much that I can't do anything. Most of that tired comes from stress that is family related due to my waiting on my brothers upcoming heart surgery, and dealing with my mom who is refusing to take the armour I ordered from her. Go figure. lol. There are two other people on thyroid who also dose once a day. One of the ladies doses the same amt that I do, and she is good to go all day long. The other, I don't remember how she doses, but it is once a day also. They are actually the ones who made me think about dosing once a day. I tend to get caught up in stuff and forget to take that second dose, and if I took it too late, couldn't sleep. I also started taking something for adrenals this afternoon, because I think I can use a little support from that with all the stress I've been under lately. I should know more over the weekend on if the deltacortril (prednisolone) is actually doing the job it's supposed to. I am taking 2.5 mgs to start with each dose, up to 4 times a day because I'm a little leary of it just yet. I'll let ya know how that goes later. :-) SandyE~Houston Sandy in Houston who takes all her Armour in one dose! >I'm on 3 1/2 grains and I can't split up my dose or I feel bad. I >take it once a day. Guest guest
Sandy, that is very interesting. It's one of those cases where I wish I knew why that works so well for you, and why others report they notice a difference when they multi-dose. The multi-dosers may not be good T4-to-T3 converters, so they need to spread it out. And your receptors may need the extra " uummph " in the morning that taking it all gives you. I am nervous about trying all of mine at one time since I have MVP, and I am thinking it would aggravate it. But.....there was one morning that I took a 3 grain tab accidently instead of my 2 grain tab...and I did fine. We'll have to keep investigating the whys of all this. You mentioned taking the delta---did labs confirm that you needed it? Janie > Ya know, I tried it two ways. Guest guest
IN SEPTEMBER I WENT FORM 2 TO 3 GRAINS. I told the doctor I needed atleast three and she tested and agreed. I have used bioenergetic testing only. Like some others, blood tests have been worthless for me. When I went up from 2 to 3, I had had no thyroid for about 10 days and went straight to 3 grains at once - single dosage. I feel nothing at all from it. I have been splitting up the doses lately becasue everybody is talking about it and so I thought it must be better....makes sense. NOw I am up to 3 3/4 grains. Still don't seem to feel much..... When I get up to 4 ,I think I will split the does into twice a day and call it good unless I hear any differently from here. Say...am I the only one here who gets bioenergetic testing to determine need and levels of thyroid? I also have my dowser check and currently his rods say I should do best at about 4 grains at this time..... ~Inga ____________on 11/12/04 7:06 PM, sandy at starz@... wrote: Ya know, I tried it two ways. Guest guest
I was very leary about dosing all at once too. But I'd read so much about what to expect if I had too much in my system I just took the plunge. It worked so I just stuck with it. I do however notice some heart palps at night, when I get into bed. I'm guessing that I've got all the T3 out of my system, but haven't decided how to handle that just yet. SandyE~Houston Re: Sandy in Houston who takes all her Armour in one dose!
