Guest guest
Hi! I have completed the first phase of the Undenatured Type II Collagen study at Beth Israel last Wed. I am now off all RA meds, including prednisone (yippee). Was given a 4-month supply of UC-II to continue and am to return for follow up at the end of the 4 months. Due to some questions people here have posed, I got some answers: UC-II is patented by Interhealth. They have one manufacturer in Arkansas; the reason for numerous sources of the UC-II is that Interhealth does not do the distribution themselves due to costs. The 40 mg. pill has 10 mg. of the pure collagen and the other 30 mg. are related fillers. Not sure what that is yet. For dosage purposes, one 40 mg pill (which contains 10 mg. pure collagen) is all that is needed--not 4 pills. The pill should be taken first thing in a.m., despite the directions on the bottle which says to take it before bed. No food or drink for at least 20 minutes. Pills should be kept in fridge. I will be getting copy of blood work and will share the results (start of study vs. 4 months on the UC-II). Have no idea what, if any, changes there will be but will be interesting to see. Dr. Trentham said that it appears I am in remission...! :>) Babs
