Guest guest
I was very touched by the show - in fact, I am taping it. Please tell me who your daughter is. I will look for her when I re-watch the parts I missed on tape. And how wonderful for her (and you) that she got to do this! How exciting! I am not bothered by the materialism of the show. Oprah spends hundreds of thousands of dollars in charitable contributions. She has a whole Angel Network and supports many, many good works. I, for one, appreciate you sharing this with us. Laurie W. OFF TOPIC- to BEE I am sorry you feel so negatively about this show. I was only trying to share some good news in my life after having gone through stomach cancer surgery in August and having my WLS postponed for 6 months. I am sure the people WHO KNOW ME will be happy for our daughter who is a struggling first year High School teacher and is strapped with $$$$$worth of student loans she took on in order to achieve her goals!Good things come to those who expect nothing. Miracles happen. Have a great day everyone.
Guest guest
Okay I don't watch Oprah, but what is the show? I'd like to know what everyone is talking about. Guest guest
It was a show Oprah does annually called "Oprah's Favorite Things." She introduces different products and services to the audience (usually personal care stuff and clothes, although this year included a really nice washer/dryer set-up and a spa vacation) and then gives everyone in the audience one of everything. It adds up to thousands of dollars of goods that each person takes home. It's really fun. This year the entire audience was composed of teachers, and she "invited" them all there for a show to honor teachers. The Favorite Things show is always a surprise, so the audience never knows when it will be. Laurie W. OFF TOPIC- to BEE>>>I am sorry you feel so negatively about this show.
