Guest guest
Hello, Well I try to not eat sugar or fruit, and stay low with the carbs. It does help. I get yeast from thinking about eating a banana!. But I love my chocolate or a cookie, it is sort of my own personal prozac! Just take diflucan and acidophilus. connie, MI
Guest guest
Going on a high protein/low carbo really helps me a lot.. Not only did I feel much better,, less brain fog.. less achy... I also lost some weight.. without trying, though that was not my intent.. I do plan to stick to this diet.. elizabeth In a message dated 7/31/00 9:11:39 PM Eastern Daylight Time, RamSpeed2@... writes: << I'm curious if anyone has changed their diet to help with their lymes. Guest guest
I too find that a high protein, low carb diet, and eliminating simple sugars, makes me feel the best. I think that would be true for most people though. I also find that eating more but smaller meals also helps maintain an even glucose level in my body........certainly less brain fog.!!! Perhaps cutting back on sugar could help?>> My sister has had great relief in her symptoms from cutting back on sugars - very strict - no sugars means no bread and no fruits, not just no processed/refined sugars like in candy or desserts. she finds that it not only helps with the yeast but it also keeps her symptoms more under control. if she sneaks, and breaks the diet, she'll have a symptom flare-up. Guest guest
No, but would also like to find info about it. [ ] diet? > Has anyone heard of controlling PA through diet? > > > >
Guest guest
>Has anyone heard of controlling PA through diet? I have heard of many attempts, and have made some attempts myself. I have never heard of any successes that I found credible. I'd like to. Rob Glover
Guest guest
Kathleen, I have just posted 3 previous notes-letters to various members on this site. I am also curious about diet and PA, please let me know if anyone responds to you. I recently stopped migraines when I was FINALLY diagnosed with hypoglecimia (low blood sugar)... the solution to this was diet and I eliminated most of my sugar... now forcing myself to eat more complex carbs. instead of simple sugars. I have not had one single migraine since 4 months! I am 5'8 " , weigh 110 lbs, and have always been a big consumer of proteins... I know proteins are good. I suppose my dislike for carbohydrates has kept my weight down, but I do miss my chocolates... still eat a bit every once and a while. But now I am curious about diet and PA, while still pushing myself to eat 5 to 6 small meals daily (for the hypoglygemia)... and hopefully someone will have some suggestions for both of us. Good luck. I have just joined this site. > Has anyone heard of controlling PA through diet?
Guest guest
Everything I have read on this subject basically comes down to this: 1. You really can't control PA through diet. No one has shown a link yet. 2. Eating healthy is always recommended and that might make a difference. 3. Exercise is always recommended. In my own experience I have found it that it makes me feel better and I feel like I have some control over my symptoms. I would do what you can. For example, I couldn't run on the treadmill very well because of my knee, but then I found I could very well do the elliptical trainer at the health club. Also, I did read somewhere that either Vitamin B or Vitamin D MAY be helpful. But now I can't find the link where I read that. Well, maybe someone else who knows about this can provide some info.... It is very important you feel good about the treatment you choose. I was poor and still am so I basicly eat what I can get. I know however those on better diets respond better and faster. Guest guest
I have noticed a lot of mentions of " dietary changes " you all have instituted. Exactly what are these changes? If there is something I shouldn't be eating, I need to know about it. I don't eat meat, don't drink alcohol, eat mostly whole grains, fresh fruit and vegies. Is there anything I need to give up? claire Callahan Goodman claire@...
