Thanks, Eleanor. I need that kick in the butt. OK...will do, I promise!Eleanor Oster wrote:

PLEASE take sleep apnea seriously and get the darned machine. NOW!!!If I sound a little, er, strident about it, I have a good reason. In 1995 I was unexepctedly widowed, BY SLEEP APNEA! I woke up with my husband having a grand mal seizure due to lack of oxygen getting to his brain. By then he was breathing again, but it was is called agonal breathing, which basically means your brain is toast!I have since gotten married again, to a man with sleep apnea. He has a CPAP machine, and he keeps breathing! The only problem is that if there is a power failure, I don't let him go to sleep. Been widowed once, don't want to go through that again. Not only does sleep apnea kill people while they are sleeping, but people with the condition have much higher rates of almost any sort of traumatic injury, from auto accidents to on-the-job

injuries. My current hubby rolled his vehicle many years ago when he fell asleep at the wheel. The problem is that people with sleep apnea are constantly fatigued, because the quality of their sleep is poor. The oxygen deprivation also puts the body organs at greater risk.Alright, off my soapbox, but please do understand that it is serious!-- Eleanor Ostereleanor@... Oh thank God he is! I have already started with him, I sent him your email

and mentioned it to him. Fortunately I won't have to do more than I have,

he'll take care of it. They said they weren't sure he had it, and I

suspect he may not, but just don't want to take any chances. LaWanda At
