Guest guest
C> swing and she dozed off. So, at least I got a half hour to get stuff > done. What I have been doing is doing my house work at night when Jess > can hold her > Anyone elses baby not let you put them down??? I can't get mine (18 months old) to stay still long enough to hold and cuddle unless he's asleep. He's like that old commercial where the little boy would zoom around the house in a walker trashing things until we saw moms legs and he would stop! He's always on the go! Until I pull out my sling!! He enjoys riding in it. He likes playing with it when I'm not wearing it, too. All children are really different though. My first child would sleep three hours for a nap! I had no idea how lucky I was until my second child was born who wouldn't nap unless she were being held (or worn) and stopped napping by her first birthday. My third child will nap about 1.5-2 hours once a day, but he and only he will decide when that time is! lol Speaking of... my hubby just discovered resting on the floor in 's room so he lifted him up onto the bed... where quickly hopped down with a mischevious grin and headed out the back door. I found a book at our library that I brought home to my kids. It came on a referral with other children's books from a friend in the US, and I really enjoyed this one! It's called " A Ride on Mother's Back " by Emery Bernhard. It is a collection of stories of children who are worn by their mothers (or other family members) and nursed! Great book to read to your older nurslings, too! Anyways, in the back of this book is some interesting information about attachment parenting practices around the world: in Bali, and island of Indonesia, the people believe that babies are born pure and close to heaven and that the babies' feet should not touch the ground until they are 105 days old. (No explanation for the number 105.) The babies are carried and never put down on the ground. On the 105th day, the babies are given a ceremonial welcome and finally put down on the ground. Traditionally, for many centuries, babies are carried in some sort of " bag " that is worn by a close family member. In the US today, babies are usually carried around in " plastic buckets " (car seats, swings, carriers, play pens, moses baskets). So much for improvements in technology! Guest guest
Pam! So glad to hear you're home! You know your Medicare will cover completely home health physical therapy if that's needed. Considering your pain level (which I hope they can soon do something about) maybe the passive exercise would be good for you right now. I assume the hospital will forward the card I sent--if not, it basically said I hoped you'd be home soon and I was praying for you, so I got my wish! About your son--don't borrow trouble as my Nana used to say. But be sure to let us know as soon as you do about the CA. Denny has the same liver stage. Did your son start the pegasys yet? (for those of you who don't know that is a brand name for a timed release version of the interferon , as well as daily ribivirin. The amount of ribivirin is based on your weight--Denny takes three pills in the morning and three at night.) Anyway--try not to worry (yeah right). Behave yourself! Love and prayers, Kathy Thank You Hi All....Well, they sent me home last night, at my insistance, from the hospital....I did have a small stroke, which affected my speech and left side of my body.....They had me in ER for 12 hours, and was really upset and threatened to take me out....They said they were waiting for a bed for me....They did an MRI on my head and kidneys, (as my kidney function is not as good as it should be).....They did a CT Scan on the head and an echo cardiogram on the heart....They put me thru test after test....The only thing that looked good was the brain....What did they expect...LOL.....Have to have a good brain to get thru all this.....One of the things they did find was that my aorta-iliac arterie below the kidneys was severly blocked....The vascular surgeon told me there was nothing they could do for me.....Said no ulcers on my feet and I had my wheelchair.....What this means is this blockage could cause me to lose my lower limbs if I lose total circulation....Having the wheelchair means I won't be in severe pain, not having to walk or stand very long.....The pain from this is terrible....I can only stand about 5 to 10 minutes before the pain gets really bad.....It can also come on at rest and all I can do is cry.....My doctor feels something should be done about this so she will be sending me to another vascular surgeon for a second opinion......My neurologist said I have a lot of CNS (Central Nervous System) problems and nothing he can do either....Basically all the specialist said the same thing about nothing they can do....Now, I'm not going to lay down and die, so I insisted that I be released from the hospital....I told them I didn't need their bed for another night....Might be someone in ER who was waiting for a bed....My speech is still kind of slow, and my left arm and leg are still weak, but I'm doing fine.....No therapy, I'll do it myself.... A little news on my son, that has really brought on the stress before the stroke.....His Physician Assistant called last week and said that he doesn't have cirrhosis, but of course he does have Hep C AND a stage 2 liver disease....His Alpha-feto-protein is very high, and we feel that the doctor who told him he has liver cancer was probably right....We will know on Wednesday....I know all this stress is a good cause for a stroke, and I'm really trying to stay calm, at least as calm as I can.... Now, I want to thank all of you for the prayers and the beautiful miniture rose plant with the beautiful white glass flower plot that came with the plant....They are so beautiful and I really do appreciate them so much....Also the card that came with them....I love that direct link that goes up because it really does work.... I know this is long....Won't take you as long to read it as it did for me to type it....LOL....I have had to keep making corrections on wrong words I was using and correct the spelling.....Words are one of the biggest problem for me right now....Wrong ones come out..... I love all of you so much, and glad you are there for me.....Pam [NASH Group Website]http://www.geocities.com/liver_nash/ Subscribe: NASH-Non-Alcoholic-Steatohepatitis-subscribe Unsubscribe: NASH-Non-Alcoholic-Steatohepatitis-unsubscribe List owner: NASH-Non-Alcoholic-Steatohepatitis-owner Please visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com
