Hey you US crewbies-any of you have these butter tarts available? I don't think I have seen then around here? , have you? Marie

I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THEM TILL IT WAS POSTED ON THE CREW ARE THEY LIKE A TART AND HAVE A FILLING LIKE OF PUDDING OR FRUIT? OR ARE THEY MORE LIKE A CRUST OR COOKIE?

Here you go, and don't eat them all at once!!!!!!!!

BUTTER TARTS

Fill shells only 2/3 full1 Egg

1/3 C. Butter

1 C. Brown Sugar1 Tsp. Vanilla (use only half if concentrated)CREAM TOGETHER until smooth and creamy. Then add....

1/4 C. Chopped Nuts (any kind but Pecans are really GOOD)1/2 C. Raisins

****

BAKE FOR 15 MINUTES AT 180 C.

IN PREHEATED OVEN.

MAKES 2 DOZEN. COOL AND EAT!!

STORE IN CONTAINER WITH TIGHT FITTING LID, OR FREEZE IF YOU DON'T EAT THEM ALL!

********MAKE SOME FOR ANN WHILE SHE IS AT BOWLING.

THEY ARE SO EASY WHEN YOU BUY THE FROZEN TART SHELLS!!

REMEMBER TO WASH THE DISHES AFTER! (LIKE A GOOD BOY!)

NO ONE HAS POSTED THE RECEIPE FOR THE TART JUST THE FILLING

THIS IS MY TART RECEIPE:

1 CUP FLOUR

1 3 OZ PKG CREAM CHEESE

1 STICK MARGARINE

MIX THE MARG AND CHEESE WELL BLEND IN THE FLOUR

THIS IS THE TART DOUGH

ROLL INTO 24 SMALL BALLS PLACE ONE IN EACH CUP IN THE TART PAN EACH PAN MAKES 12

THIS RECEIPE MAKES 24 TARTS

THE FILLING:

2/3 CUP CHOPPED PECANS

3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR

1 EGG

PINCH OF SALT

1 TSP VANILLA

MIX ALL TOGETHER WELL

The butter tart is the size of a regular tart. People often buy the shells now-a-days, our mothers inclusive. From Costco is where they buy there tart shells. wrote up the recipe for us. NICE GUY!!! Its on the list below.

The Butter tarts

some people use pecans; I do not

I am not known as a "nut" person

I prefer raisins.

The tarts as mentioned are just bought at a local gorcery store or bakery

There is so much premade now days

It is a little sweet but taste very good

A question arose about sugar and sight.

If your body is handling sugar normally then your sight is not affected but in the case of people with diabetes sugar can

have an affect on sight. There are different levels of diabetes also.

BUTTER TARTS ARE USUALLY 3 " IN DIAMETER. THE ORIGINAL RECIPE CALLS FOR

WALNUTS NOT PECANS. ASK JIMMY WHICH IS BEST HE HAS HAD THEM WITH WALNUTS,

PECANS AND MACADAMIA NUTS!! THEY ONLY MAKE A 2 INCH PASTRY SHELL IN

OZ...THAT'S SO BRI CAN HAVE THREE AT ONE TIME!!
