Hi Group;

Has anyone tried custom made arches for the shoe to help with balance? I

recently saw an imfacomercial, I don't remember the company or brand. They

were selling special gel arch/sole inserts. The lady trying them was easily

pushed over while bare foot, but while standing on the inserts, they

couldn't budge her. She had a lot more control over her balance. Has

anybody seen a podiatrist about shoe inserts?

Another thing about food or liquids coming back up. Mother has had a lot of

stuff come up out of her nostrils, not only her mouth. Especially while

lying down. Has anyone seen a ears, nose and throat specialist? If so what

has been the cause and or treatment.

Please let me know of your experiences.

Just trying to keep ahead of managing the symptoms!

Some fairly good news about Mother. She has a room mate who walks all over

in a " " , it's a pcv cage on wheels with a seat. Mother thought

this would work for her, rather than buzzing several times asking to be

walked only to be told " not now " or " not enough time " et.. The nurse told

mother it wouldn't work for her, she would fall in it because the "

" has brakes in the back and Mother sits or falls into a sitting

position so hard. Well Mother told them to put the brakes in the front. They

did! Mother can lock it or unlock it with her feet. She doesn't have to ask

anymore for a walk. She likes it more then the manual chair because she

didn't have enough strength in her arms to make it move and would stay where

they put her. Now Mother is walking all over the place, in her "

" .

It's sort of funny in a cynical way, some of my sisters, the ones that

wanted only to visit her when they found the time, now want Mother to stay a

weekend with them, now that she is getting up and about so much better. I

should be pleased that they want to spend time with Mother. It sure makes

Mother happy. ..... How can a person,(someone I sort of know well) become a

whole lot less cynical? Does Cynicism and Depression go hand in hand? This

person I sort of know is kind of sensitive, so be kind.
