Guest guest
Can any one tell me what these terms technically mean? I tried to look them up and couldn't find them on-line. Dyslipidemia Hyperphagia Is it anything good, ie, will it help with an insurance appeal? Yesterday, I got an official denial in the mail. It was for the first clinic, but stated that weight loss was not covered by my policy. At least now there is something I can DO. That helps alot. My appeal letter is in my head, now I just have to write it all down. I went back to my pcp yesterday for a follow up on the weight loss. Bad news is I only lost 7 lbs, good news is I lost 7 lbs. We had a talk about whether or not the surgery was " medically necessary " . He said he that it was and that he would write a letter stating that is was, which will be great for the insurance denial. He wasn't too impressed about having to write another letter to Dr. R, but said he would. Lots of crossed eye looks etc. I get so frustrated with the paperwork of it all. (Hey, I guess I am the only one who feels like that!) It is a big game to cross every " i " and dot every " t " with insurance companies. He acts like he is doing me a big favor to write a letter. Kills me because, it isn't like it is something I can do for myself. He said he would write the letter to Dr. R, put the medically necessary language in it, but that was it, no more letters. So, if I need more, I guess I will be shopping for a new doctor. This guy is ok, I go to him because he understand obesity, but it was a frustrating experience. Who likes to do paperwork, no one I know of, BUT that's the way this game is played, and until I am in charge of the world..... Thanks, guys,
Guest guest
Thanks Steve, I could find neither in on-line medical dictionaries. What a shock it is to find out I EAT TOO MUCH... I am sure the insurance company will love that one...
