I was just wondering if this had happened to any of you guys. I've been losing my hair now at an alarming rate for quite a while. Sounds petty I know, but believe me I'm the least vain person on the planet......except for my hair which is exceptionally long and pretty much the only thing that kept my self-esteem hanging by a thread before the wonderful world of RSD, but that's not the point

Hi Tricia,

I know exactly how you feel because the same thing happened to me. It was less than a year ago that I noticed that after my shower when I combed my hair there was so much hair in the comb it looked like a comb would be after a month of normal use. It was not just breaking but falling out at the root. Like you my body and appearance has been ravaged by RSD. The only thing that still looked healthy was my hair. It has always been long thick and naturally blonde.

There were no bald spots just general thinning. I was so upset. I went to a salon and they recommended a shampoo and conditioner and a spray on treatment. I am sorry I cant remember the name but maybe a salon could help you find something. The doctors said it was stress due to being so ill. I was in and out of the hospital sometimes in for weeks at a time. Also on very powerful meds, so they thought maybe it was the meds too. I don't know if it was coincidence of using the shampoos but it just stopped falling out!! When they say it is stress it is like a vicious cycle, the more it falls out the more stressed you get. Have you had any recent change in meds or surgery or something that put your body under more stress? The shampoos I used were not that expensive so maybe it would be worth a shot. Like I said, cant remember the names of it, it was not in the drugstores but bought at the salon. On top of everything else this is the last thing you need. It is not being vain, it is very distressing!! I will keep you in my prayers because I know how it feels!!!!!!! Take care Love, Jai
