Guest guest
I shared the following post on the Long Haul group this morning: Good morning all, I went out last night to a social mixer at a local area restaurant. What I discovered about this place is that everything on the menu is only $5 bucks and the menu has alot of great items. I ate my mid-day meal later than normal because I unexpectedly had to take my car to be serviced. I tend to stress about my car more now because my income flow is currently smaller. So, I lost my appetite when I heard an unexpected noise from my car yesterday morning and immediately took it to get checked. So when I arrived at the event around 6 p.m., I wasn't remotely hungry. Of course, as everyone orders their meals, I'm asked why I'm only sipping on a root beer. I communicate to the woman next to me about how I've been practicing IE for about a year and a half, that I eat when I'm hungry, and how I feel so much more peaceful around food. She asked me if I did IE for " health reasons " and I reply that I did it for " sanity. " She looks at me funny and then changes the subject! Anyways, I'm feeling that social pressure to order something besides root beer throughout the three hours that I'm there. I noticed the pressure, picked up the menu... and my internal dialogue went something like this " it's only $5 dollars right...are you sure you don't want to just get something Latoya? I'm not hungry. Are you sure? We can take something home. Could it be that you're getting a little bit hungry? " I've seen this track before...if I think about it enough, I've sometimes convinced myself that I'm hungry when I'm really not. So, I intentionally changed my thoughts and put the menu back down and focused on the conversations around me. I left without eating or taking any food. AMAZING! I've been experiencing more and more amazing personal feats on my IE journey. Anyone else want to share some of yours?
