Guest guest
<< and started the SJW >> So SJW is okay to take while nursing? , do you have any info on this? I haven't gotten off the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy yet and would like to try SJW. :-) ~

I was wondering if I could take this while nursing and think I will give it a try rather than the lower dosages of Zoloft. If it doesn't work then I will have to get back on Zoloft or something. Guest guest
Hi , I was rather leery also of bf while on zoloft, although supposedly it is okay to in the lower doasges. I was up to about 10 mg day--just not learning to cope well at all with the changes the stroke had made in myself and in my family's life--so I had to work through that also. And after 3 years on it I decided to look into St. 's Wort. Weaned off the zoloft--that was fun<G> and started the SJW--and have to say that I really like it a lot--I ran out so went cold turkey, but I'll be starting on it again next week. Wanting to fend off the post-partum also--althhough that hasn't been a problem much. I've noticed that I am not sleeping as well while off of it, although that is also probably a side effect of being very pregnant also.<G> W. Guest guest
> I was rather leery also of bf while on zoloft According to Hale's 98-99 book, Zoloft is preferred to St 's Wort! The information on Zoloft lists three studies where the mothers were getting 100mg of zoloft a day and the babies' levels were nearly undetectable. Both Zoloft and SJW have long half lives... 26-65 hours for Zoloft, 26.5 for SJW. The concerns with SJW are that it hasn't been studied well enough yet. It is thought to get in milk levels in very minimal quantities, but the amount is unknown. This does say that SJW causes uterotonic effects and that pregnant women shouldn't take it. Guest guest
> So SJW is okay to take while nursing? , I just posted about this to , who was leery of taking Zoloft during breastfeeding. It appears to be safe to take while nursing, but not during pregnancy.
