Guest guest
Hi , I am a friend of Lynne's and I was very impressed with your post. Where in NY? I live there! Where in London? There is a friend who is coming from London to see me and she wants to be introduced to my A/P doc, Dr. Trentham in Boston and where in Mexico? When my husband & I lived on the west coast, we traveled south constantly and have traversed most of Mexico. I was diagnosed with Scleroderma & R/A about a year ago, but spent many years being so sick w/o a diagnosis. I think my problems began in 1986 when I came down with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which wasn't recognized as a disease back then. It affected my liver and I was accused of being an alcoholic and I drink only an occassional glass of wine at dinner and maybe a total of 5 beers a year. When my heart began to give me problems, I had 4-5 surgeries. The last being an ablation for atrial fib. I still have several episodes of arythmias daily and no one knows why. My electrocardiologist is stymied. It was a shock and yet a relief to finally get a diagnosis for my pain, lung, heart, bladder, and tight skin problems with the little pebbles comming out of my skin, the pseudo vitiligo, the Raynaud's and TMJ. I was told I was terminal and there was nothing anyone can do for me, but treat the symptoms. I became despondent, went into isolation at my winter retreat in Florida and used the computer for research. In desperation, I sent an e-mail to the Scleroderma Foundation which Lynne picked up and told me about A/P. I am now 7 months on Minocin and doing fine. The unbelieving doc's are amazed at my speedy recovery. My pulmonologist, said although I have a mild case of Pulmonary hypertension from the pulmonary fibrosis, that she will not give me any other meds as she now believes the Minocin will reverse that too. I know I still have a long way to go and much to learn. Thank you for rescuing Lynne, who in turn rescued me. Guest guest
The problem is that the donation link given http://virtualjimdisney07.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=159730 & lis=1 & k\ ntae159730=5D8B4D710A2E4142A8D005A1F27B2FD2 & login=t is not an official arthritis foundation link. Here's the link off the arthritis foundation http://www.arthritis.org/events/jointsinmotion/go_somewhere_orlando.asp So, the question is, is e attempting a scam, or has she been unwittingly scammed? Or, is this an official arthritis foundation link, and they can't spell? Guest guest
From the Arthritis Foundation link, look for Virtual Joints in motion http://www.arthritis.org/events/jointsinmotion/VirtualJIM.asp And check the link provided there. (look for Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon -- Registration deadline-Friday, September 22, 2006) A misspelling may only be an error. Guest guest
Hello Esther, You definitely are wrong about this and I will help clear this up. First of all, I am part of this group since many years now and you can read my story on the rheumatic site under . I am a doctorate in sciences for degenerative diseases with high distinctions. I am a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the International Institute of Clinical Nutrition London and Mexico among many other organizations. The idea of doing a marathon has been something I have been longing to do for many years since I was dying many years ago and unable to walk at all and many people in this group know that. I am with the American Arthritis foundation Joints in motion program which is an official organization and gives official receipts. I have pledged to raise a minimum of 2500US dollars to do this marathon. If it does not come from the general public it is taken off my personal credit card in three increments (August 18th for 1000US, sept 15th for 675US and then october 27th for 675$) which I invite anyone to phone the Arthritis Foundation to ask about it. I have a training program that I will be following with Jeff Galloway ( which the foundation provides) for the next five months. This will be 15 plus hours a week that I am taking into my busy schedual. I mentioned this on the site because I thought it would be an inspiration that these diseases don't have to ruin our lives forever, we can make it through the barriers and get our quality of life back. If people want to donate, it is directly with the Foundation, not myself at all. I provided the link, but people can write e Bourgeois on the back of their check when it is sent by mail or it can be mentioned on line for which it is a secure site. So, it is far from being a scam....I have included the response that i received from the arthritis foundation and you can call the person on it as well as anyone else who would like to look this up or donate directly to that person if you wish. I know I am doing all of this for a great cause, I want so much for things to change for those who suffer as I did in the past. Guest guest
Hi e, I am doing well! I'm so impressed to hear that you furthered your studies to do research to help us all. I would love to hear more about your work. I just returned from a conference where I taught digital imaging techniques to a group of scientific and medical illustrators... Maybe our work will overlap in some way. :-) Bet of luck with the JIM marathon. I didn't have any trouble finding (and believing!) all the links for the info you sent. I guess the unfamiliar web address and the misspelling concerned some of the others, but since I am familiar with the Arthritis Foundation's Joint in Motion marathon, it was familiar information to me. -- Jean On 8/7/06 12:12 PM, " e " <flight1@...> wrote: > Hello > > I was wondering where you have been, haven't heard from you in a long > time..how are things? > You did find the link...I don't understand how for some it didn't work. Guest guest
Esther, You talked about scamming which is talking wrongly about someone when it is not the case. If there was a personal email that bothered you, then I am sorry it upset you. When I respond to people it is to give advice on many levels, either meds, surgeries, supplements, diets, exercise, etc. I have never asked for money for any consultations over the past ten years. I don't make money on meds or supplements or any fund raising for that matter. I am paying my way to Disney and it was just to inspire people. I hate for this to be a dark cloud for people when all I want to do is help. I am putting ALOT of work into this. e Re: rheumatic Arthritis marathon >Hello Esther, > >You definitely are wrong about this and I will help clear this up.
