I've heard others mention this, but I don't see how you could comfortably

nurse like that. Doesn't that hurt your back? Can you still be discrete

while doing that? My car seat cradles my baby so much that I don't think I

would reach.

most planes have them..... If your

plane doesn't have one, let the attendants know that you may need to use

a flat surface somewhere else for changing him. They have to accomodate

you. Think of it as a $500 changing table in the sky!! lol >>

Hmmm... I've never noticed a diaper changing table in a plane's bathroom.

Those bathrooms are so small, I guess I just assumed that they don't have

them and never even looked. Does anyone know if Southwest Airlines Planes

have changing tables?

Thanks for the info !

I could not do this! I heard someone else on the list mention that they do

this, and I tried and tried and tried....maybe I am too short? Those of you

who can do it...are you taller?

I have one of thsoe newborn carrier type carseats. Does that make a

difference?

We travel all the time and it would be nice to learn how to do this ;-)

I used to do it in the car, and while it's not comfortable, it's possible!

(not for long nursing sessions tho!) and I think you need larger breasts to

do this too!

You should call them and ask!

Speaking as a Southwest Airlines employee I can say NOPE. The planes are so

small that there really isn't a good place to change them. I have balanced

DAvid on the lid of the toliet but now that he is alot bigger I don't know

what I would do. I will find out soon though cause were going to visit

Grandma in September.

I would say bring a pad and change them on the floor if it was a big baby

otherwise try the lid.

As for nursing while your baby is it it's car seat. This is a great way to do

it. If you do it right it looks like your leaning over your baby to look out

the window. I think it works best if you have large breasts. But maybe not.

In my opinion it look more descrete then holding them cause it really did

look like I was just looking out the window.

I am 5'7 and when I didi it I was using the infant seat. If you were pretty

flat I don't think you would be able to do it. I am a DDD

So I can nurse while david is sitting across the room.

Ok not really but you get the idea.

I pulled the car seat until it was tilted some towards me, and then used

the top of the seat as a handle, pulling it towards me as I pulled

myself towards the baby.

You guys commented that it must be easier to do this with larger

breasts, and I remember vividly that as I nursed on the plane I

wished for smaller breasts that didn't need support to keep them from

falling out of his mouth!

I'm also short, 5'2 " , and was able to stay in my seatbelt, except with

the shoulder strap (in the car, not the plane) pulled off of me, and

nurse. It involved scooting more to the edge of my seat, but still

within the confinement of the seatbelt, should it be necessary.

I would imagine that before you tried it in the car, that it would be

easier to try once or twice at home, with no belts, and see what would

be involved in order to make it possible.

,

i can't nurse while she is in the car seat either. I tried several

times, but my boobs just wouldn't reach even with my leaning over. My boobs

barely fit into an A cup so they are really really small. And to make

matters even worse.....my left boob is even smaller.

While we were talking about flying with babies, I got this email about

airfare wars!

Dear Travelocity.com member,

Just a quick note to inform you about some very important travel news:

The nation's largest air carriers have kicked off a fare sale with

some prices discounted by as much as 25% for late summer and fall

travel.

Headed by national carriers such as Northwest Airlines, Continental

Airlines and American Airlines, these sale prices are available for most

flights in the Continental U.S., Hawaii and Canada. Great deals are

available for travel to most destinations through December 17, 1999.

Other airlines that have slashed their prices include United Airlines,

U.S. Airways, Trans World

Airlines, America West and Delta Airlines.

Check out Travelocity.com to learn more about these special deals, and

book through our best fare finder at the following link:

As always, we appreciate your continued use of Travelocity.com for all

of your travel-related needs.
