Guest guest
Kathy, Keep up the hard work you CAN do it! When you get down and ready to quit just remember I am in Alabama rooting for you! You might be the first to fight for these rights at this new school but I bet you are also the only one with a 300 pound cheerleader!!! Go getum girl you can do it! Have a great day! Horsley leehorsley@... Re: interesting special ed services legal case Hey ,I needed that email and congrats to you. Have my son's IEP on thursday and I fought for so many years to get a curriculum.. etc and ect.. so now so many things I have tried to get for the last 7 years are now in place at the elementary level and now he has to move onto junior high and there is nothing set up there for him. Seems I am first in line of self contained autism support here in my district. Feeling sorry for myself but you are right.. I should be happy all that I contributed too to get these things in place for other kids. Just looks like he has not made real progress. And doing well in this setting and has to move on... want to stay in denial but know I have to go with it and try to set up the best place for next year.KathyPlease contact mito-owner with any problems or questions. This afternoon she was laying between Amie and I taking a nap while we were reading some emails when Amie looked at Audrey and let me know Audrey was having a seizure unlike any she has had before. In the past she has had focal seizures, but this time she had her eyes wide open, but her eyes were rolled back, her pupils were dilated and she was turning blue aroud her mouth and nose, plus she was doing some shaking. Amie grabbed her up thinking she would respond, but she didn't, then Amie realized she was turning blue nd she handed her to me. I rushed into the bathroom where the light was better and she started coming out of it. I them called the ER where I work and told them to have Audrey's ped call us asap. As I hung up the phone Audrey started with another seizure so I just grabbed her up, told Amie to get her 6 year old, we were going to the ER(we only live 1 1/2 miles). When we got there we explained to them what had happened so they did some blood test, urine test, chest xray, put her on the pulse ox, it was 93-95%. Within a short time she started to have another seizure so I hollered for the Dr. and he himself witnessed the seizure. This time her whole body became mottled and she didn't stop shaking until they gave her 1mg Ativan IV. The ER Dr. called her ped and within a short time she was on her way to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis by helicopter. Amie and her husband are on their way up there now. They are supposed to call me just as soon as they get up there and into a room. We thought we had been doing so well. I am so scared. I think that is the first time I have verbalized that. I will be going up there in the morning, thank goodness it is only about 85 miles north of us. I will keep you all informed. Pray for Audrey, please. God Bless all of you, Kathy, grandma to Audrey, 15 mos Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
