Guest guest
Dana~ That is AWFUL!!! Have you spoken with managers of the entire complex, not just the pool? Tell them what you've encountered. I know that in my complex the pool managers are just residents- paid a few bucks by the rental agency. If you notified the rental agency/complex managers they MAY do something...if not, what I would do is to contact your county health department and tell them EXACTLY what the kids and managers have told you. I should think that there would be laws stating the levels needed to be checked this often and cholorine needs to be added so often. That is such an outrage and a disappointment. I know that we love to go swimming and would be really upset if we had to miss out on it...let alone worry about catching some nasty disease. Good luck. ~
Guest guest
Dana, write all this down (well, duh, you already did LOL) and call the department of health and tell them what has been going on since they closed it for the bacteria levels. Try to get your friend who had the incident with the rude lifeguard to call as well and report what happened when she talked to him. My husband was a lifeguard while he was in school and he would have lost his job if he didn't check the levels once an hour and vacuum and add chlorine and stuff. They are making a fun place very dangerous. The health department really needs to keep a close eye on it and the company that runs the pool just may need to be replace if possible. ~ EDD 2/8/00 PhilsGal@... wrote: > Last week, my neighbor told me that she gone to the pool > the other evening and they were closing it. Guest guest
, << About this pool situation, I would be curious as to know why they can't check the chlorine levels every hour, what are the lifegaurds doing that keeps them so busy that they cannot do this and are they able to watch the pool being so busy with this task? Me too! Well, as I mentioned we've had a lot of problems with the lifeguards so far. I can tell you that from what I've seen they are " too busy " talking with their friends, reading magazines, flirting with girls, listening to their music, and are just TOO plain LAZY to be bothered! It's really disgusting!! Isn't E-coli transmissable? And what about other nasties? Whooo, makes my skin shiver! Mine too!!! I believe that there have been children who have died as a result of being infected with the E Coli bacteria. That's why I am so upset!! It's very scary that I put my child (albeit unknowingly) at risk!! Dana : ) , mum to (aka peach)12-22-98 >>

I believe she said she was going to call the health dept. herself. I'll have to double check to see if she did. You're right they are making it very dangerous!! It's really unfortunate. I can't believe that the lifeguards weren't fired on the spot! that is their job!! What the heck else are they doing? I'm not knocking lifeguards BUT I've seen these guys. We've had SO many problems with them this year! Oh well. I've left two messages with the health department and am just waiting for a call back! I'll keep you posted! Dana : )
Guest guest
, I spoke with one of the girls in the office. (Not the property manager but I believe an assistant) I don't bother talking with the lifeguard as it does no good. They are employed through a pool company. It's apparent that the apartment complex isn't all that interested. I do plan to write a letter to the home office as this is a HUGE management company> I also will probably set up a time to go down and talk with the property manager herself. Or is it that they can't afford to do chlorine checks? Then they need to budget it before the health department closes them down! Oh that makes me so mad! Isn't E-coli transmissable? You obvious can't be guarding lives in a pool where one second all may be fine and the next something diasterous can happen if you are " so busy " as to be talking or flirting or reading. > Mine too!!! I believe that there have been children who have died as a result > of being infected with the E Coli bacteria. There's also that other one that begins with a C I believe that has caused a lot of problems. That (along with E. Coli) was one that caused problems in those water parks last summer. ~ EDD 2/8/
Guest guest
Dana, I would say fight it all the way. Go to your complex's higher up's and straight to the health dept. It's beyond ridiculous imo.
