Guest guest
I'm just recovering from my decompression surgery and I really didn't beleive I would feel so bad but I still need my neck fused C4-6 and I have a bunch or worries that are probably just that. I'm already feeling closterfobic about a C-callar . It makes me feel like I'm choking or gaging, and my necks too sshort. I can now lay on my stomach and my sides as opposed to only my back before surgery. Now I can't even sit relining on my back because of pain. Will I be able to lie on my sides or stomach after the fusion? Can anyone answer my questions? Thanks, Debby --- debbie eckhoff wrote: > I also had the back of C-1 and C-2 removed , > > but I also have a cage and plate where I had C-5 > and part of C-6 vertabraes removed and I only have > about 30% range of motion and I do rom exercises > every day. > > I had about 60% Rom after my vertabrae surgery in > march 2000, > > So I did loose about 30% more. > > I went to therapy once for a month after my > vertabrae surgery and 2 times a month at a time > after my decompression surgery. > > We really worked on my range of motion but my neck > will only turn so far and I can't > lean it back but a few inches and I can't bend it > down very far at all. Guest guest
Debby, There are different kinds of collars .....I started with a Philadelphia and then had to switch to the Miami J ....there are options so ask your doctor to prescribe one that works for you .....for me the Philadelphia gives me the best support but it strangles me....the Miami J is much nicer but I get tire because the support is not very good. After my fusion (which has been done with titanium) I have been able to sleep on my side but not on my stomach .....I am not sure if it's the collars or the fusion .....
