Guest guest
Faith, Wow! Your remind me of the show on TV...7th Heaven! I love that show and wish that I had more kids. I have a 16 yr old and he keeps me on my toes. And what a wonderful thing to adopt children with special needs. That really tells alot about the love and character that you have. Next, welcome to the group. You will find that everyone is so wonderful here and is willing to bend over backwards to help each other. You are on the right track to becoming healthier. It sounds like you have already decided that the surgery is for you. Find out all the information you can...the good and bad and that way you will not be surprised by anything! I had surgery 3 months ago and already I am alot healthier than I was. Yes, I had foot pain also. It would hurt so bad to get up in the mornings and just try to walk to the bathroom. Forget trying to walk for exercise. I can now walk without my feet screaming at me and they only feel fatigued when I have been on them all day long. I still have problems with my heels cracking but they are not splitting open anymore since I have lost 60 pounds. They use to split and bleed and would really be sore for weeks. In fact I wore high heels for the first time in years yesterday and I was amazed that I was able to wear them for as long as I did. The surgery has also helped my blood pressure, urinary incontinence, and my blood sugar is low now instead of being borderline diabetic. Not to mention the swelling of my ankles and feet is gone!! I have DJD in my knees but they do not hurt like they use to either. Good luck on your journey. Hope to see you on the losing side soon. Did it resolve itself when you lost a lot of weight? I pray it does. I have had heel problems for many years and even remember them hurting when I was thinner but not like they do now!
