Guest guest
Welcome Shae Glad to have you with us. Eva Hello! It looks like I am an unconscious eater by default. All the subgroup descriptions fit me. But I have been learning, over the past couple of years to be an intuitive eater, though I never had that name for it. I first found out about this through the Weigh Down book, though I don't agree with all the religious preaching. I just read the physiological parts of the book, and it was practical enough to get me started in the right direction. I read parts of Thin Within, but it seemed to complicate the issue somehow. Anyway, I guess we all have different needs, and Thin Within just didn't suit me. It actually made things worse. So I got rid of the book, took a break from worrying about it, and gained some weight back. I guess I went back to "default mode". To make a long story shorter, I have lost 40 of the 80 lbs I gained during a six year period, though it looks like it may take as long to take it off as it did to put it on. Now I'm now getting more curious about health, not just weight. Shae What's for dinner tonight? Find quick and easy dinner ideas for any occasion. Guest guest
Shae, it sounds like you are off to a good start here. Wonderful that you have some background and experience under your belt. And fabulous that you 'get' the acceptance of self rather than jumping thru any 'should' hoops. Hope you post more and remember that gripes, questions and crowing about successes are all welcome here. Guest guest
Different books probably speak more to different personalities, but I personally connect with Intuitive Eating.
