Guest guest
LOL, I remember the day I started wanting salad, too And here's what is really cool - you can have grated cheese and " real " salad dressing on it, too. No more fat-free dressing! No more dressing on the side that you tentatively and resentfully dip your sad little piece of lettuce in!! Ahh, the freedom!! Guest guest
Thanks ! I had seconds! My poor body was probably saying " thank God, here comes a real fresh tomato and romaine lettuce! " I havent had the desire for fresh fruit yet but have been drinking the v8 fusion which i guess is better than nothing. Guest guest
LOL Deb - its amazing how food we associated with dieting can return to our tastes - after a much needed 'rest' :) I felt that way about apples, even though I always liked them, I just couldn't eat one without feeling like it was 'instead' of something that I really wanted. Now I enjoy them once again, but still not all that often either ;-) One evening instead of snacks or dessert I ate - broccoli!! It has always been a favorite of mine - for dinner veggie. But to realize and actually prepare it to eat later (and while watching TV) was a new one for me. Almost as good as cake for breakfast :) Kudos to you - Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Only my friends on this group would understand the significance of what I'm about to tell you. > > Are you ready???? > > Drumroll........ > > Last night I ate SALAD because I WANTED it! > > I have not touched salad in 10 months since quitting my last diet. Guest guest
Hi, I am new to Intuitive Eating; I did follow Overcoming Overeating for about 15 years. Just want to say it is great that people are starting to really enjoy salad or apples because they taste good; I know it's nice to see them as decent foods to choose instead of " diet " foods. I have one quick question; Is this Intuitive Eating group based on a specific Intuitive Eating book? I see there's more than one and don't want to purchase the wrong one; sorry for my ignorance of this. Thanks for any help possible :.) Guest guest
Laurie, this group was set up with the Intuitive Eating book by Tribole & Elyse Resch. There is also a Book List in the Files section here that has many other titles/authors for you to select from (OO included). The only common point here is to not restrict or 'should' yourself with EXternal rules/dictates about eating or body appearance. Returning to the inner wisdom that we all were born with as our only needed guidance for each of our lives is what this group supports for ourselves and each other. Glad to have you here! Katcha IEing since March 2007 PS - you may want to print the book list and check out the library where you can pre-view the books there before selecting one (or 2 > > Hi, > I am new to Intuitive Eating; I did follow Overcoming Overeating for about 15 years. > > Just want to say it is great that people are starting to really enjoy salad or apples because they taste good; I know it's nice to see them as decent foods to choose instead of " diet " foods. > > I have one quick question; > Is this Intuitive Eating group based on a specific Intuitive Eating book? Guest guest
Hi Katcha, Thanks so much for the warm welcome; I appreciate it. I didn't mean to come on so opinionated with one of my posts; hope it didn't bother anyone. The reason I posted that is in another on-line group the owner was talking all about paleo, cutting carbs, not eating dairy, etc., etc. and I wasn't, in that forum, allowed to voice my opinion that the body knows internally what it needs for nutrition. Hopefully everyone will find me helpful and caring :.) Thanks for telling me about the books; I'll order them :.) Laurie
Guest guest
Isn't it great! I've been craving of all things, celery, lately. All of the sudden I love celery???!!!!! > > Only my friends on this group would understand the significance of what I'm about to tell you. > > Are you ready???? > > Drumroll........ > > Last night I ate SALAD because I WANTED it! >
Guest guest
Lori, What I find great about this group is that I have found it warmly supportive of UN dieting. Other forums were either too constrained (dictorial?!?) or didn't have the richness of experience and encouragement that I have found here. We do try to stay on topic, but can stray a bit now and then, but truly off topic posts are deleted/denied so that the focus of Intuitive Eating (normal eating etc.) is kept. Its grand to have someone join us here with a wealth of experience like you have as well as a willingness to share what you can with those just getting underway with their own IE journeys. Looking forward to reading more posts from you Katcha (moderator) IEing since March 2007 > > Hi Katcha, > Thanks so much for the warm welcome; I appreciate it. Hi Katcha, Thank you so much. I feel very welcome here and I appreciate that. I am already noticing a warm, supportive tone as I read the emails from others. I am very happy to have found this intuitive eating support group! Thanks! Laurie
