Guest guest
Angie - Just say you need surgery, period. It's none of their business what it is for. But if you think they're gonna figure it out as the weight comes off, then you might want to be honest up front. Everyone's comfort level is different on this. I am on disability so did not have to address this issue. Good luck. Jeanne in WI Age 39 Open RNY 05/21/2002 314/ 231/150-175 5' 8 " djgraves@... Guest guest
Well gals, I just got back from my second appointment with the RE and have decided to go forward with surgery. My RE is not the warmest fuzziest guy in the world. But he answered all of my questions and said the " right " things. I had asked a lot of the questions I learned from you all. He does use Intercede to minimize adhesions, he told me that in terms of my fertility he will not know the state of my uterus until after the surgery. I am having my MRI done a couple of weeks before the surgery. The last one I had done is one year old. So he wants a new one. He does about 50 myos a year. Is that good??? He talked to me about recovery and duration etc. I will get a call from anesthesia and then all of my pre-op stuff will be done. So, the big day is SEPTEMBER 15TH. I am so nervous already. I will keep you all posted. Any advice or suggestions are welcome! Thanks, /Chicago
Guest guest
Hi, Ask for pain meds when you feel pain. Get an ice bag for after when you're home. Wear loose clothes. I just did the surgery last Thursday. Went home Friday. I would do it again. My doc wasn't " warm " . I wasn't there to hold hands with him. He was a very good surgeon and that's just what I did want. I had no choice it was that & ^%$$%% fibroid or me. I'm still standing. Have the surgery. You can do it.
