Guest guest
I don't have any words of wisdom, but I do know as I get older and am definately in peri-menopause that my body is definately changeing. I do think hormone changes (lack there-of?) definately have a play in our weight. I'm not so sure men have the same problems or not. I too battle high blood pressure, but am happy to report that the last time I got it checked it was lower than it has been in a long time. Stress is a big play in my HPB! That and I have worked on adding more herbs rather than salt to my food. Alana > > After a hysterectomy 10 years ago my weight increased over a period of > 5 years. Guest guest
Thanks Alana - words of wisdom perhaps not, but very supportive - thanks. Somehow it is comforting that I do not suffer alone! (how selfish of me!) I have often wondered too if men go through this 'phase' in their lives. I certainly believe that they are not so 'weight' conscious as we females. If it wasn't affecting my health so much, I think I would not be so upset with the state of my body considering my age (I am no spring chicken!) as I realise that this is a battle against time that I cannot win. Still, I would prefer to be a healthy old lady! Have a nice day and thanks once again for your support cdwarf > > > > After a hysterectomy 10 years ago my weight increased over a > period of > > 5 years. Guest guest
cdwarf~ I think you will be pleasantly surprised how much " healthy " does NOT have to do with what we weigh. It seems to be a knee jerk response for most of the medical profession to prescribe weight loss for MANY things. You will find, if you look back at previous posts, several people who have improved their health, blood pressure included, by simply getting OFF of the weight loss roller coaster, while not losing any weight, sometimes even having gained a little. Blood pressure down, weight up!? No way you say! but it's true... Don't automatically jump to the conclusion that high weight=high blood pressure just because the Dr's do. Maybe I have been lucky, but I have been up to 140 lbs overweight my whole life and I love salt, yet I have never had high blood pressure. Medical miracle am I? No, the two things don't automatically go together. Good luck!~ Meg IE Since Feb. '08 > > > > > > After a hysterectomy 10 years ago my weight increased over a > > period of > > > 5 years.
