Guest guest
, I'm a mom of 5 little ones...ages from 10yrs to 7 months. I don't work outside the home. My husband is a dairy manager and has been with the company for about the same time you have. What do you do there? Thank you for keeping this between us. The last thing I need is for this to get back to my mother-in-law from hell and have it spread all over the Cape. She's well known for her mouth and I'm already the talk of the town up here...and thats no joke.

Guest guest
It's nice to see some others from the Cape on here, too. Hi . Yes, you guessed right when you called your friend yesterday wondering if the Paramedic from Truro that posted on here was me or not. I, like you and , am keeping this more as a secret...for now anyway. Do a lot of people do that in the beginning? Your secret is sacred with me. :-) Stay safe. 's example is well made she lives in a small place and does not need it broadcasted all over if she does not wish it ... I've seen this happen already once before and I'd hate to see it repeated. Guest guest
Jeff Welcome I'm from the Cape too I'm pre-op w/ Dr. Thayer scheduled for 3/29 I have told most friends and family everyone was great about it no negativity so far.. I mean people have expressed fear about major surgery and my mom is freaking out thinking of caring for my 2 y.o. while I'm in the hospital.. but otherwise everyone was good.. I think it helped that I'm sure and that I can't let their opinion change my plans... they don't have to live in this body... just my 2cents vicki
Guest guest
Jeff, I think telling anyone is your business. It's a very personal choice. I know for me that I do not want my personal life chitchatted about over coffee. This whole weight battle for me has been huge, as I'm sure it is for everyone who battles this. The surgery was a huge decision for me, but the last thing I want people to think or talk about is that I failed in some way in loosing this weight without surgery. Trust me...my mother in law would have the time of her life talking about this and proving me in some way as a looser. So with these reasons and many many more...I choose for myself to keep this between my husband and I. That should be the basic point for all.....choose for yourself as to what is best for you...not what others see is best. Know what I mean? Gossip hurts and I'm not going to throw anyone a bone to gossip about me... just my thought...
Guest guest
My 0.02 cents was no one cared how I got fat why should they care how I got thin I told no one initially .. as time went on I told more. Still not everyone knows. My neighbours don't know most of my distant family does not know .. my oldest school friend but one I don't see very often doesn't know. I find it easier to tell strangers or those I just met .. its a personal choice and whatever you choose is right for you. Lyssa

Guest guest
Sara, Try not to worry! It sounds like you are progressing on your IE journey. If your jeans fit the same and you have been working with a trainer I would guess it's a combination of new muscle and water weight with maybe a little actual weight gain. When I took up running I gained 10 pounds in a month (which totally freaked me out because it was during an extremely restrictive diet). Unless there is a specific reason to have an absolute number for your weight, my nutritionist says you can ask not to be weighed or can be weighed facing away from the number (I have a physical next month and I'm planning on facing away because I'm feeling really positive right now and don't want the scale to bring me down). Best of luck! ~ > > Hi all - > > > > I made a big mistake today, and got on the scale. Guest guest
,I'm one for whom diets never worked, even temporarily, also. so i can totally relate to how freaked out you are feeling!a couple thoughts... one, maybe you gained more than you realized initially, and have, in fact, already lost some of that weight, which is why you feel like you were losing... it's just that you aren't yet back down to where you were initially? did you weight yourself when you started IE, or some time before that when you had been dieting? for me, when i stopped dieting, i had to work my way through legalizing, which definitely added some pounds, but  i think my metabolism had also been screwed up from restricting calories and carbs for so long. so some of that weight gain was bound to happen as soon as i stopped dieting. also, since dieting doesn't work AND makes us crazy... what are your other options? i truly believe that dieting causes weight gain. dont doubt the great progress you have made!!! making peace with food is HUGE. and i do believe that you will see downward progress in your weight... in whatever time frame your body is ready for. and the fact that you are working out is great! i think that matters more than your weight. have you been medically advised that your weight is not safe for a pregnancy? or just that it would be better to lose weight? because a lot of the time those sorts of messages are theoretical. if possible, i say go for your dreams... and dont let weight get in the way if you can possibly help it! good luck, and don't lose faith... you are doing great with IE! trust yourself.abby  Sara, Try not to worry!
