Guest guest
Rosemary, I started off at Minocin MWF twice daily on those days and remain there after all these years. Read about the herx at the support site, get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, know that depression will go with the herx so that you understand that this is only a valley you will pass through, and try the peroxide/epson salts bath described at the support site. Guest guest
Have been on Minocin for two weeks now. Started off at 100mg twice daily but lowered it to 100mg once daily after three days due to 'loopy' feeling. Was better for a couple of days now I feel like crap. My lower back is killing me and I'm beat. I'm taking 100mg Plaquenil daily plus Ibuprofen one day, Tylenol the next. Anybody else have such problems with low back pain (an area of osteoarthritis for me as well)? Should Minocin be lowered to maybe 3 times a week instead? Thanks for any feedback. Guest guest
Hi Rosemary! Geoff here. You wrote: [snip] > My lower back is killing me and I'm beat. [snip] Anybody else > have such problems with low back pain Your description is a bit nonspecific, so maybe this will be of use and maybe not. If the pain is at the extreme lower back just above the hip, it could be that the two muscles there are being stressed. This is a common lower-back injury situation and usually comes about because the balancing muscles -- those of the abdomen -- are weak. If this is your situation you can strengthen and tone the " stomach " muscles, i.e., the abdominals, etc., by doing some very gentle bends, twists, etc. Ask a Doctor, Chiropractor, Therapist or Gym for a sheet showing exercises you can do to strengthen the ab's, and in so doing relieve the pain in your lower back. Also, Futuro makes a stabilizing back support commonly available at large drug stores like Long's. HTH, Geoff

Guest guest
rebecca, I know how you feel, I was diganosed last spring and felt just awful. Once i started on the medication ive been feeling much much better. there is hope, research the meds and talk to your doctor. Once i started the meds and all of me felt better except for one shoulder thats when they did the MRI and found my rotator cuff tear. Thats how much of a difference it made for me. hang in there Hugs Helen and (11, systemic and EDS) @...: snooksmama@...: Sat, 7 Feb 2009 00:43:21 -0500Subject: Re: feel awful Oh , I am so sorry to read this. Being a mom to our very special kids is hard enough, much less having to deal with illness yourself. I hope that you can get good treatment and start feeling better. Bless Elaney's heart, to be so worried about you. Hope things turn around very soon. and Rob 19 JAS----- Original Message -----From: rebpick1artist <rebpick1artist@...>Date: Friday, February 6, 2009 23:37Subject: feel awfulTo: > Hi everyone, I apologize for not posting for a long time. Guest guest
, so sorry to hear of your news. I wish you only the best in treatment and there are so many great ones out there now. Tell Elaney like I tell my mom ALL the time it just doesn't work that way. LOL. My mom was diagnosed with rheumatoid several years ago and always likes to tell everyone she got it from me. I just tell her that hers has been dormant for many years and she finally started showing signs in the last few years. Anyway, be well, thonk positive and hang tight!
