Guest guest
I have been pretty down about the insurance denial, but today turned to corner and decided this is MY LIFE and I will fight for it. I have read the whole damned policy this morning and made notes for my letter of appeal. I found some really good stuff to argue. Like, for example, the ONLY medically necessary treatement they exclude is treatment for obesity. The exclude surgery for " obesity " but don't address morbid obesity. Tee Hee. Also they pay for diet pills IF medically necessary, but not any other treatment. They policy also says they don't discriminate. We will see.... (They really don't have a clue who they are dealing with, poor souls.) I have been messing around with losing the weight I needed to have the surgery. Hearing of all of you out there who are doing it makes me realize I have no excuse. I have had a heck of a month (February) but that is all over and I am still 7 lbs down. (ok, so it was 10 or 12). Considering I was out of town two weeks, my Mom nearly died in my arms, and I left my sick husband and three children while I was with my Mom, I was maxing out on the stress-o-meter. Enough, all that is over now. So now it is time to get the remaining 20 off so I am ready for my turn. Sam, my 13 year old and oldest son, offered his birthday as my surgery date. Makes me cry just to think of it. I told him April 18th was one of the happpiest days of my life and I would love to have a second reason for it to be such a treasured day. He said it would be the best Birthday present he had ever gotten. So that is my goal. To be ready to go by April 18th!!! Look out world, here I come.
