Guest guest
Question: From my research and the talk on this board, hypo people have a tendacy to have low iron right? I had put ferritin on the list of tests that I wanted done and my endo was like " unless your anemic insurance won't pay for it unless she recommends it " We, my husband and I, wanted to know what it is even if we have to pay for it. I mean what if my iron is low but not low enough to be anemic, how am I suppose to know unless it is tested. I also told her I wanted to be put on Armour and even though she didn't argue she did mention " what a horrible drug it is " . I mentioned the New England Journal of Medicine article where it said they recommend it and she said they have never recommended it and so I quickly pull out the article from 1999, so then she back peddles a little bit and says that " well this is from 1999, doesn't mean anything now " . This was her last try that I was going to give her. She acts like all my research means nothing, because she already " knows " the answers. I like to know what is going on with my body and my health. Also she is not a people person at all. Not to mention that she tested my ft3 and ft4 back in June and when she saw it on my list of tests, she was like " i always test these " when in the 5 times I have been there she tested them once. I am just hoping that she doesn't try to start me out at 1/4 Armour cause that ain't gonna fly. But hopefully I can get started on Armour and get on the healthy track. Guest guest
Thanks. Self dosing maybe the way I really need to go. I am suppose to go back in 3 months and am debating if I want to put up with her crap anymore. My husband is worried about have a drug with no prescription if I self dose. I am not too worried about it but it has crossed my mind. Anyways, I also just want to say I love this group. I have learned a lot.
