Guest guest
I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to respond to questions about what the AAT book is. AAT stands for appetite awareness training and the book is entitled: " The Appetite Awareness Workbook: How to Listen to Your Body & Overcome Bingeing, Overeating & Obsession with Food - by W. Craighead " Deb
Guest guest
Katcha, it is on the book list here. it was recommended by my RD Registered Dietician. I found it difficult to read compared to the IE book. But I must also say I did not finish it and I did not complete the work in it. I may go back to it eventually but for now I'm liking the IE book. Guest guest
Hi Deb, Thanks for letting me know that I didn't need to add this book. I like to think its a good sign that the list is so 'rich' (long) that I can't remember what is on it myself I did the same thing with The Foods and Feelings Workbook - got a few chapters into it and then put it aside. It seems to me that we really can only manage a few changes at a time and taking on 'heavy feelings' right off the bat can be overwhelming too. It also seems to work better if one learns the (food/eating) basics of IE first as that is not only most familiar or a 'way' to reverse dieting. Plus one really needs to have those habits developed and working when you then get ready for the 'next step' which is emotional reasons for eating (when not hungry). I like to think of IE as huge feast with lots of wonderful treats that I will better enjoy and appreciate if I eat each as and when I can (for hunger reasons). Baby steps make up a lot of the IE journey :) Best to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > > Katcha, > it is on the book list here. > > it was recommended by my RD Registered Dietician. Guest guest
I have this book too but I didn't get very far in it. You were supposed to print out these pages to record how you felt before and after you ate. It just reminded me of journalling when I was doing Weight Watchers and was a big binge trigger for me. So I put the book away. To: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Sunday, July 5, 2009 11:52:00 AMSubject: Re: What is the AAT book?
