Guest guest
Hi all:) My name is Jenn mommy to twins girls Jaden and Marena who are now two yrs old. Ever since they have been 3-4 months old they have had severe belly/intestinal problems. We have been taking them to a gi specialist since around that time. They are identical so they have the same problems usually around the same time. They have been on two doses of miralax for over a year and have had tons of test done. They have had the manometry tests, endoscopes with biopsy, blood tests, gluten test, thyroid tests and all came back showing no cause to the constipation problems. We have trired several different diets excluding different things and still nothing works! We just made our most recent hospital stay with Marena this past week. After the third enema she finally was able to go enough for them to send her home. My husband and I are pulling our hair out to get some answers on how to get them to live a more normal life. I have never heard about this book or this diet but just ran across it as a fluke. I am going to go out tomorrow and see if I can find this book and start the diet. The girls were born at 34 weeks and spent 10 days in the nicu. Jaden has learning, speech and sensory delays where Marena only has speech and a mild case of sensory problems. I am hoping that this diet can help them since the doctors are unable to at this point. I think they have an intestinal problem in the fact that their bodies are unable to break down certain things found in our everyday food? The doctors now want to start genetic testing to see if there is something they can find causing the constipation? They get so blocked up they sometimes don't go for up to 15 days which then ends up as a hospital stay with xrays and no cure. Does anyone have this as a similar situation with their child/children? Guest guest
Hi, Welome to the list. I don't have any similar experiences to yours, so no advice to offer other than to adhere to this diet 100% and no less for at least a month. Every little thing that goes into their mouths gets through the entire digestive tract - every molecule counts. So please try to resist the temptation to give a treat here and there. Let us know how things progress. Helen, mom to three, including (9, ASD, SCD 4/04) > Hi all:) My name is Jenn mommy to twins girls Jaden and Marena who > are now two yrs old. Guest guest
Of all the coincidences - I just read up on this very problem over on the www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info . There is a link there called 'knowledge base' where I found the following: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/constipation.htm She tells a story of how severe constipation was relieved by SCD and gives a protocol to try if SCD by itself doesn't work. . I'm a knowledge junkie so I go over there every so often and just read through the knowledge base - must have just read this a couple of days ago. I sure hope it helps you! There was a secondary link about constipation as well which might be useful, too: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/constipation_continued\ ..htm Robbie Hi all:) My name is Jenn mommy to twins girls Jaden and Marena who are now two yrs old.
