Guest guest
Carol, no need to 're-start' IE, its always there as you use it. What came to my mind reading your post was someone a while back talking about how they carried around a plate of food at an event, just so that other people would not feel like they would need to offer food. Associating fun with events sounds grand, but if the 'definition' of fun = food, that sounds like a subtle pressure to me. No sense beating yourself up over this. You did the best you could with the tools you had. Others have asked 'how to' prepare for events such as these and received many suggestions to consider. PREparing seems to help lots, even deciding whether you want to arrive at such an event hungry or not. Plus PRE imagining what YOU want to be like when you arrive. I know that when I feel I am dressed nicely and PREpared for eating as I want, I have a much happier time than if I 'get' sucked into the shoulds of social events. YOU are going to enjoy YOURSELF, determining your happiness by what others SEEM to put onto you is always a disappointment and frustration. If you can look at this event as a situation that you can learn from, I think you will find that you end up seeing it in a whole new light. Plus you will be more ready for any next time too. BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Just was involved in a big family reunion this weekend for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I have thought many times about how our " fun " and " unpressured " times came during meal times at home or at restaurants growing up. I still struggle with associating those times with relaxation and fun. I hope ultimately that will be true but for now I am " bogged down " with extra weight which doesn't feel very celebratory. Have had a couple weeks with more intensive overeating and haven't been paying attention to I.E. 10 principles. Am " up on the horse " again and would love any input on this. Katcha, I have appreciated your thoughts on my situation and towards others I have read. Thanks! >
