I have been having evening sickness mostly. Thank goodness for evening

sickness since I have to work up until the last days. Thanks for the tip on

the soda crackers. Do you mean saltine crackers or does the box say soda

crackers?

When I stopped taking the Birth Control pill I put having a baby in Gods

hands. I go to the doc for the first time today. I called my NS and his

nurses all said congradulations. I sure hope they mean that.

Do you notice your tumors growing more during your pregnancy?

Re: Scary News

I say Congrats to you and your hubby Tiff:) My kids are my everything:) To

not have kids must be the hardest thing in the world, I think it may be

worse then NF2. Hang in there it will be FINE:) Ive had two:) Are you

getting sick yet?? The soda crackers do work keep them by your bed so you

can grab one first thing:) I think its wonderful news!!~~Lowi:)

The doctor today just referred me to a baby doctor and said my thyroid was

enlarged and my heart was racing. Great, what does that mean?? They ran

blood test. What else can go wrong?

Re: Scary News

I mean like " saltine crackers " Like Premium or Krispy?? I really drank a

lot of peppermint tea too. My NF wasnt diagnosed while i was having kids,

one in '91 and one in '93 so i didnt have mris done. Whether they grew fast

at that time?? I dont know. I was unaffected tho, except some tweaky

balance stuff during my second pregnancy. I attributed it to the extra

weight, but that might have been tumors. I had no problem taking care of

the boys, I nursed them both for a year, a bit longer then that for the

second one. I really recommend that:) Nothing like midnight feedings,

nursing your baby when you are the only ones up in the house:) It will be

fione~~Lowi:)

The weight gain I am liking acutally. I thought I was going to feak out

when I started gaining weight. I use to weigh my self every morning to make

sure I was staying the same but I really enjoy eating foods that are not low

fat or fat free. I hope I don't gain too much wieght but I am sure enjoying

eating for two.

Thank you everyone for saying congradulations. I really appreciate that. I

was thinking some would look down on me for possibly bringing a child into

this world with the chance of having NF2. I am hoping that my reason for

being alive is to bring this baby and maybe more into this world.

Thanks Again,

Tiffney

Hi Tiffney,

Congratulations!!!! The best advice I could give you for the next nine monthes is forget about NF2. Enjoy it!! Stress can do more damage than the hormones of pregnancy (just my theory).

Both of my children were born in the "wonderful state of ignorance". Looking back, I often selfishly dream that we had started having our children sooner and had a few more.

Yesterday my oldest daughter, Hilarry, turned 9 and my other daughter, Hannah, is 5.

Just relax and enjoy yourself.

Many Blessings,

I am going to pray everyday for a heathly baby. A member of my family sent me this memo I have copied below. I am going to read it every time I start to worry.

Do not worry about what will happen tomorrow.

The same everlasting Father who cares for you today, will take care of you

tomorrow, and every day.

Either he will shield you from suffering, or he will give you the unfailing

strength to bear it.

Be at peace, then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

**************

Never borrow from the future. If you live in dread of what may happen and it

doesn't happen, you have worried in vain.

Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.

So do not worry.

*********

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, only a woman can

carry it "within" her. True strength is very delicate.

Enjoy this time, Tiff. Your baby is a beautiful gift.

don't quote me: but i think there is a test but its in the embroyonic

stage for people who would consider abortion. there theres the test

they can do on anyone with a blood draw, its very expensive and what

do you do with the results?? bottom line is its 50/50 the baby can

have it, will hope it doesnt but will get by if it does.

Congradulations from me too . I did not know about my NF2 when I had Lee, so I didn't have your added worries. This was 16 years ago and I am still kicking though! :o) And I am like Lowi, Lee is precious to me. I wouldn't give anything in the World for him.

Hope you have a rather SAFE pregnancy!

You know to beat a horse, but to settle your fears Tiff. There has been advances to surgery and radiation that are nothing short of amazing. The treatments for NF2 are still harsh yes, BUT we are living longer and healthier lives. I think before too long medical advances will be able to make for an effective treatment and eventually a cure. NF2 will be a thing of the past like many old diseases. Your child only has a 50% chance of inheriting this, if he/she wins the genetic pool and is a carrier of this, Im know they will be able to benefit and it will be a great thing to see:)~~Lowi
