Guest guest
Hi, I'm scheduled to have upper/lower surgery on Feb. 12th to correct an open bite, cant problem, as well as I need to have my lower midline moved over. This is after having surgery in July '02 for a severe TMJ problem. The TMJ disc/cartilage was perforated, so it had to be removed and the joint cleaned up. In place of the cartilage, the oral surgeon grafted my temporal muscle. All went extremely well with that surgery. For my first surgery, I was able to drink without any problems -- all the work (incision/stitches) were done externally. For my second surgery, the oral surgeon informed me that I will be wired for up to 6 weeks and all the incisions/stitches will be internally. For those of you who have had the surgery, would you recommend the Zip-n-Squeeze product? If so, can one use the pureed food bags for thinner liquids? Are the bags sturdy? How many bags should I order? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jane
