Guest guest
" Have any of you had big changes in your child when you implemented the specific carbohydrate diet (SCD) after being on the gfcf diet, or in combination with gfcf? " Our last guess is that 80 nto 90% are seeing big changes. SCD is GF by definition. Initially, all kids with autism are recommended to do the dairy free version to start with. After marked improvements, the child can get used to special fermented dairy sloooooowly and carefully. " I haven't read alot about it yet " www.pecanbread.com plus the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle (Elaine Gottschall) is al you need. " I guess I was just hoping for a miracle " Miracles do not happen. We need to work for the miracles. These guts are damaged beyond anything you can imagine. They need very, very careful handling. After seriously trying SCD (100% fanatical adherence) for one month, I am sure that there are things that have improved. But first you need to get yourself educated on the why's, the how's of SCD. Only then does the diet make sense. Marjan http://specificfoodsforspecificminds.blogspot.com/
