Guest guest
Welcome I think you should read the Intuitive eating book by Mrs. Roth that is in our book list that is a good starting point and then take it one day at a time for example for one day you could focus on figuring out when you are hungry and do that for as long as it takes for you to figure it out then move on to stopping when you are satisfied. The book explains this in more detail but take it one day at a time. Eva Hello,I would like to introduce myself. My name is and I have been on countless diets. With my most recent diet, I lost and gained over 100 pounds on Weight Watchers. Last year, I was introduced to intutive eating by taking a workshop. In between last year and now, my grandmother passed away and I found that I was unable to focus on anything for quite a while. Once I was able to focus, I tried a couple of other diets plus personal trainer and found that I was unable to make a commitment. This prompted me to think about intuitive eating again. My question is how do you begin. I mean, I read some of the posts and some of you are very advanced (obivously you have been practicing for some time) and I just find myself wondering where did you start? Any help or insight you can give is greatly appreciated. ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Welcome , I liken IE to a feast - lots to take in, but one can't do it all in one bite! So just pick what is most appealing to you and begin with that. Its the old cliche of 'a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single footstep'. You mentioned that you found you couldn't focus and commit to dieting. What suggestion of IE sounds like something you could get an interest in? I am assuming you have the IE book to help you with suggested practices, and even if you can't pick one, just playing around with being as mindful as possible in your eating never hurts. Looking forward to reading more from you as you travel along the IE path. Posts can be questions, bragging and whining too - just as long as they relate to IE! And in case you aren't aware, there is a Book List in the Files section at the group site which you can copy and print to take to your local library for immediate and varied reading on this subject. BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hello, > > I would like to introduce myself. My name is and I have been on countless diets.
