Hello,

I hope this finds you better than yesterday yet not as well as

tomorrow. Just got home from two days at the hospital. Have to go

back to work tomorrow. 's surgery went very well. The Dr. is

pleased with the surgery and her recovery. She moved out of PICU

(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) today and moved into PCCU(Pediatric

Critical Care Unit). The Dr. performed a Dural Band Decompression on

. He removed a small section of her skull sorry to those of you

out that know all this but I decided to write one email for both my

Chiari friends and my family-am too tired to write more than one)and

removed a very small portion of her Dura(The lining inside your skull

that helps protect your brain). He said the the relief of pressure

from this procedure should be enough to hopefully eliminate her

symtoms. 's ACM1 was not as severe as others that he has

operated on. We were able to get her to sit up and to slightly turn

her head this evening for the Dr. We were all very proud of her for

doing something that she knew would hurt. The next step to getting

her to a regular room is to have her stand up. She should be out of

the hospital by the end of this weekend. She has to walk on her own

and be able to eat before she can come home. Well I need to get some

sleep(I haven't slept for more than an hour or two in the last three

days). I will try to keep you as updated as possible. Thank you all

for your prayers and thoughts.

Dennis
