Guest guest
Kat--Don't your Doc's use this scale? Down here each time I make a Doc visit the nurse asks me where I am on this scale along with doing vital signs. When I was still working we used it with each patient also. In fact medicare required that it be used on all its home health patients. It's very useful because it makes it easier to qualify someone elses pain--before the nurses and Docs were stuck with vague "it's really bad" which could mean about anything. I'm sorry to hear you're having such pain. How is the weather up there? The reason I'm asking is that I've found I'm a great weather predictor--before the rain or snow starts (usually a couple of days before) the pain begins to increase. We're having awful weather here--Thurs I was a 9, Fri an 8, now the rain has started in earnest and I'm better (thank God), varying between a 6 and a 7 which is good because I have a darn wedding to go to today and I'm gonna have to really push and "pill up". I'm glad you sent this because I'm thinking that if the level stays where it is I'm gonna have to move to the narcotics. Speaking of which--are you sure it's a 4 or 5? I seem to remember you're on T-3's and codeine is a narcotic. (hugs) and hope you feel better soon. Kathy pain scale got this from a friend and thought i would pass it on.i have been a 4-5 for the last few days..Kutrina0-Pain free1-Very minor annoyanceMild aches to some parts of the body. Guest guest
ya im a 4-5 but right now im doing a bit worse. today i have been a 6 or 7 and i was working most of the day, and did church in the evening. found it a bit hard to concentrate on the service, but they have them online so i can listen to it again another day... the weather is pritty good up here, a bit of rain, but its sporatic, i finde that only my wrist and finger joints hurt when it rains, but nothign else. Yes im on t3's, they are the only pain killer that helps with my pain. normal tylonle dosent work on me anymore since i was taking such high doses as a young age (at around age 10ish) so they have to put me up to high doses right now... Thx for the hug!! Kutrina Re: pain scale Kat--Don't your Doc's use this scale? Down here each time I make a Doc visit the nurse asks me where I am on this scale along with doing vital signs.
