Guest guest
I know I had a like fear when I began and I did legalizing of my most 'feared/distrusted' food - chocolate - as my way to over come that fear. Basically what you do is show yourself that you can have what you want and will make it available too. Binging on whatever it is at first is very normal, but you really will come to think of whatever it is as FOOD and your mad drive to eat eat eat it (now) will subside, and even in some cases, you may even get tired of what is now sooooo desirable!! Yes, some weight gain is often a part of this process, but most of us find it reverses itself after legalizing is done. BEST wishes to you - Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > ever since i have given myself the freedom to eat whatever/whenever i have been binging most days of the week. they are bad, thousands of calories, emotionally driven, making myself ill binges. i understand that since i deprived my body and mind for so long it is taking what it can get because it doesn't know when another famine may come. but how long does it take your body/mind to trust you with food again. i'm trying to accept the binges, but it makes me want to ran packing from IE sometimes. for the pure fear of ballooning up. >

You do give yourself freedom, but not freedom to make yourself sick or do something that is hurtful to yourself, like bingeing. You're giving yourself the freedom, which should (ideally) take away the need to rebel. If you do binge, you see what happens and that gives you the freedom to make choices that feel good to you, not hurtful. Hope that makes sense. Maybe someone with more experience in IE can explain it a little better. ;-) Warrior
